(Before It's News)

After the second global recall of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on October 11, Samsung has put a halt to all sales of this phone and customers are being told to keep the phones off and to stop using them entirely. This has been called the worst product launch in the history of mobile phones.

Starting on the August 24, reports of the device exploding appeared in the news. The first global recall was September 2, citing a faulty battery as the cause of failure. Samsung offered to either refund to replace the devices.

On Setptember 28, Samsung reintroduced the Note 7 to customers in South Korea. However, just a week later on October 6, a phone taken on board a US flight began to emit smoke and the plane was promptly evacuated.

Reports continued to pour out about the Note 7 overheating and catching fire.

One might think that such a big name company would do long-term testing on their product before endangering lives and tarnishing their own reputation as a cell phone manufacturer.

On October 9, T-Mobile and AT&T said they would no longer issue the phone to customers. By October 11, Samsung recalled the phone a second time on October 11, once again warning customers to power down their phones and to omit use of them altogether.
