Will These Celebrities Keep Their Promises and Move Out of the Country Now That Trump Won?

A bunch of celebs have spent months now attempting to make themselves relevant to the election by declaring they will leave the country and move somewhere else if Donald Trump were to win the presidency.

Now he has. So?

Will they really leave? And what is their response now that Trump has officially won?

Here’s the list and where they claim they’re going and the responses of those who aren’t still silenced by shock (in no particular order).

1. Cher

Cher claimed she would go to Jupiter if Trump was elected.

But so far, we have seen no spaceship launched.

She did have this to say on Twitter:

2. Jon Stewart

Mr. Stewart also said he would move to another planet, commenting that, “I would consider getting in a rocket and going to another planet, because clearly this planet’s gone bonkers.”

Again, the spaceship hasn’t left yet…

3. Chelsea Handler

She claimed she had already bought another house and was going to move to Spain, adding that while others threaten to leave the country, she was actually going to do it. No word yet on whether or not she’s done so, but her reaction on Twitter is puke-worthy.

4. Miley Cyrus

The pop star took to Instagram threatening to move out of the country with, “My heart is broken into a 100000 pieces…I am moving if this is my president! I don’t say things I don’t mean!”

So, did she mean it? Is she actually leaving?

Not sure, but Miley actually cried because Hillary lost. As in, she recorded herself crying over Hillary losing. This actually happened.

5. Whoopi Goldberg

Whoopi claimed it would be time for her to move if Trump won. She hasn’t come out to say if she’s still leaving, but in her latest Tweet, she at least admitted that she didn’t think everyone voting for Trump was racist… just that all the racists would be voting.

6. Barbra Streisand

The actress and vocal Hillary supporter claimed she would either move to Canada or Australia if Trump became president. No word yet on whether or not she’s packed.

7. Rev. Al Sharpton

At a Center for American Progress event, Sharpton said, “If Donald Trump is the nominee … I’m also reserving my ticket to get out of here if he wins. Only because he’d probably have me deported anyhow.”

Here’s Sharpton on Morning Joe this morning. He hasn’t said anything about leaving, but he’s still spreading fear porn about how Trump ‘ran a campaign based on racial fears and division playing to the worst element’ and vowed ‘we are not going down without a fight and Donald needs to know that.’

8. Lena Dunham

Dunham claimed there is a 100% chance she will move to Vancouver, Canada.

The shock of Trump’s win must still be settling in because she hasn’t updated her Twitter or Instagram, although people have taken to the social media sites to offer to help her pack.

9. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Not so much a celebrity, but famous nonetheless. Despite the fact that even Ginsburg’s fans criticized her for her public comments against Trump as highly inappropriate for a sitting justice, the “notorious RBG” told The New York Times, “I can’t imagine what this place would be ― I can’t imagine what the country would be ― with Donald Trump as our president. For the country, it could be four years. For the court, it could be ― I don’t even want to contemplate that,” adding she would move to New Zealand if Trump won.

No word on that, but WAPO has condemned her for making such comments and then failing to recuse herself on election-related litigation when she so clearly had a vested stake in Trump losing.

No matter. As our next president, Trump will likely be naming Ginsburg’s replacement.

10. Samuel L. Jackson

After accusing Trump of running a “hate-filled campaign,” Jackson straight up told Jimmy Kimmel in a skit, “If that motherf*cker becomes president, I’m moving my black ass to South Africa.”

South Africa, it has been noted, is the whitest part of Africa.

No word yet on Jackson if he’s got his plane ticket handy, but apparently people are excitedly welcoming him to “the Mother Land” when he does.

11. Stephen King

The horror novelist, who referred to Trump as “Trumpie,” claimed “A Trump presidency scares me more than anything else. I’m terrified that he’ll become president.”

He has yet to respond to the “terror” on social media. Too soon?

12. Raven-Symoné

The Cosby turned Disney actress claimed she already had tickets in hand for her and her entire family to move to Canada. Yesterday she retweeted this:

So far she may be the only one making good on her promise to vacate the country.

As previously reported, Amy Schumer sure the hell didn’t.
