You are not saved by your deeds, only God’s (of the Bible) salvation. Good deeds may get you some sort of minor award, but won’t get you saved. Reading the Bible (God’s words), may help you understand the concept.
According to scripture, your deeds or works have nothing to do with your salvation, or lack thereof. Ephesians 2:8-9 states that “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast”. knowing scripture is a byproduct of your love for God and the studying of his word. II Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”.
Obedience = works?
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15.
John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

If you keep the commandments you actually are doing all the commandments . The commandments were given because Israel told Moses to please tell GOD not to walk among the camp no more , HE is scaring us , tell HIM to stay on the mountain and give us commandments and we will follow them . They wanted to prove in self righteousness they could do what was needed to get to Heaven . Paul states that the commandments were given to the sinners for them to know what was right and wrong . The Godly will already live by them because after excepting HIM , HE puts the commandments in their hearts along with the new desire to fulfill them .
