Aquarius

To astronomers, Aquarius is only a constellation in the sky. For the rest of mankind, Aquarius meant so much more. It was revered as a symbol of life, of sainthood, and especially of water. Aquarius is a water sign. The Aquarius symbol is a pictographic version of waves on the water, and looks like this: Many ancient civilizations included a “water god” among their pantheon. The Babylonians, Greeks, and Egyptians all worshipped such gods. Water was an important part of life – without it, there could be no life. Water also had deep spiritual significance. The collective unconscious is said to be a sea of consciousness. Believers fish out great wisdom from the sea, accessing their Akashic records. Goddesses, priestesses, and other archetypes of femininity are represented by Aquarius. The Age of Aquarius refers to a return to higher consciousness, as represented by feminine energies.
