Ian and Karl from the In-Range TV crew take an early AR and get downright filthy with it to see how reliable the early M16 was when it came to mud.

The gang did an AR mud test back early last year but they used a newer model. To more correctly replicate Vietnam-era mud suck, they have now coughed up a Colt SP1– including GI 20-rounders with metal followers– to donate to the dirt bath gods.

But-but-but what about the Vietnam era powder specifications and no cleaning kits?!

They give a hattip to that around the seven min mark, including tapping in AR design team member Jim Sullivan for input.
