Here, in chronological order, are the highlights:

1. On Nov. 10, just two days after the election, the Interior Department closed off 1.6 million acres of Western land to oil and gas leasing, according to Breitbart. One wonders if they would have done the same had former secretary of state Hillary Clinton won the election.

2. On Dec. 17, Obama designated the bulk of U.S.-owned waters in the Arctic Ocean and certain areas in the Atlantic Ocean as indefinitely off-limits to future oil and gas leasing, CBS News reported.

4. Last Friday, the Obama administration allowed the U.N. Security Council to condemn Israeli settlement activity, shredding a decades-old relationship of protection the U.S. has nurtured with Israel.

5. And in what could only be described as a “land grab,” the White House announced this week the creation of two new national monuments in the West, totaling another 1.6 million acres.

Obama created the monuments under the American Antiquities Act of 1906 and has often come under fire for what the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association termed “Antiquities Abuse,” threatening the livelihood of family ranching operations.
