Hexmag to drop Glock-compatible mags in Spring 2017

Rifle mag maker Hexmag will venture into the polymer pistol universe come Spring 2017 when the company releases Glock-compatible magazines.
The lightweight mags tip scales at just 1.4-oucnes and feature a 17-round capacity for the Glock 17. The mags are also compatible with the G17C, G26, G34 and G17L models. Hexmag intends to follow the 17-round mag with a high capacity 30-round version as well as a California compliant 10-rounder.
Hexmag said the drive to wade into Glock waters came after the company saw a need for more magazine options on the popular pistol platform.
“We listened closely to the market,” Hexmag’s marketing director Dave Smith said in a statement, “and saw the need for an alternative polymer Glock compatible magazine that was affordable, lightweight and as tough as our AR-15 and AR-10 magazines — and then refined and upgraded the design by integrating the classic hexagonal pattern for enhanced grip and indexing reference points.”
The mags will feature Hexmag’s signature honeycomb pattern and will ship in either a black or flat dark earth matte finish. The company also intends to equip the new mags with its HexID Color Identification System used throughout the AR-15 and AR-10 Hexmags. The HexID system features a colored follower and base latch plate designed to allow shooters to organize their mags by ammo type for quick identification.
No word on the official launch date, but the new Glock compatible mags will retail for $16.99.
