Trump fundraiser Scaramucci joins Export-Import Bank

Financier Anthony Scaramucci, a prominent surrogate and fundraiser during President Donald Trump’s campaign for the White House, has joined the embattled Export-Import Bank in a top position.

Scaramucci became a senior vice president and chief strategy officer at the agency on June 19, Export-Import Bank spokesman Lawton King confirmed.

Scaramucci has also been under consideration for a number of other roles in the administration, including U.S. ambassador to the Paris-based Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

Transition officials had told reporters that he would become director of the Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs, a post held by Valerie Jarrett under President Barack Obama.
But POLITICO reported that White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus asked Scaramucci at one point to take himself out of the running because Trump couldn’t wait for his ethics review to be completed.
