the libs/dems/hums seem to forget that the majority of the southern states seceded over the state’s rights issue, not whether keeping slaves is lawful or not. The state’s rights issue was never really resolved. Whenever the liberals have something they want to do, they don’t have any moral difficulties falling back on the legal theories behind state’s rights .
This means that states like Oregon think they have the right to euthanize their elderly, alzheimers victims, mentally ill, and mongoloid children, if it suits them and seems convenient to the situation. This means that states like Colorado & Washington openly ignore federal laws against growing, distributing, and using marijuana, since after all, they have the state’s right.

They committed treason and declared war against the United States. Thousands of people died. Yes, they are criminals despite your romantic embrace of their ideals.
Does that mean that everyone who was named after some of our founding fathers, who were slave owners, have to change their names in order to be politically correct? This is clearly about monuments erected to celebrate the Confederacy which committed treason against the United States and LOST.
You can throw Lincoln under the bus, but then who are you going to cite when you try to say Conservatives fought to end slavery 150 years ago? Lincoln is about the only President conservatives can cite who did something positive for America outside of Ronald Reagan, who also granted amnesty to 11M immigrants.
Many southern whites are still mad they lost the civil war. These statues are monuments that shove it in our face. These public statues should be removed one way or the other. A private museum about the civil war is fine but no public monuments.

The UK did a good job of erasing my peoples history, so much so that we had to go to the EC to get protection, which the UK ignored anyway. Basically, erasing an history leads to the erasing of the people. With no history, anyone can walk in and claim your land as their own, force their beliefs on you and treat you as second class citizens. You won’t exist, someone else will, you’ll be forced out for whatever route is taken. You won’t have any history but they’ll need an history to fill the gap left, What do the think the new history will say, who do you think will be spreading it?
