I read an article that touted that traditional Muslims should follow the lead of progressive Muslims and not require Muslim women to be completely covered in public.
There is no such thing as a progressive Muslim just like there is no such thing as a progressive Christian. There are professing Christians that disobey the Bible, but they are not progressing, if they were ever right with God they have regressed and are back-slidden from the written Word of God (Bible). Likewise, there is no such thing as a progressive Muslim. There are disobedient, regressive and/or back-slidden Muslims, however. They are simply not following their book (Koran).
Since the Koran does not require women to be completely covered, if a woman is completely covered that is not Muslim, it is culture. The argument is not one of their political (religious) propaganda (Koran), but one of habit and custom, therefore the woman who is completely covered cannot be called one in traditional Muslim dress and the woman that is not completely covered as one that is a progressive Muslim.
Once we give in to the language that a Muslim woman who is completely covered is wrong, bad or not progressive and a Muslim woman who is not completely covered is right, good or progressive (assuming progressive is intended to be a good title), then we are setting the stage to justify Muslims and their book on the basis that there are good Muslims who are devoted to the Koran. That is thing we can never afford to do. The Koran calls for killing all non-Muslim and ruling the world by the politics of the Koran. Muslims who follow the Koran are our enemy because the Koran is the ranting of the enemy of decent and free society. This is true no matter how the Muslim woman is dressed.
Again, there is no such thing as a good-progressive Muslim. Every Muslim who wants you dead because you are not Muslim is a bad person.
