Ex-AZGOP chair Graham chairs anti-Trumper’s campaign

Robert Graham, the former AZ GOP chairman, is not letting any grass grow under his feet. The McCain/Flake aligned Graham has found a new gig —- that of campaign chairman for Farhana Shifa —- who is running for a state House seat from Legislative District 18. In this Dec. 2 post, Arizona Freedom Alliance provides some background on Farhana and her failed political prognosticator husband Raphael Ahmed, citing his comments that appeared in a March 23, 2016 Phoenix New Times article:

“Anybody but Trump can beat Hillary, and the only person who cannot beat Hillary is Trump,” said Raphael Ahmed, a Republican precinct committeeman for Legislative District 17. (This is not an error, Farhana and Raphael have since moved). The only way Trump would have a chance against Clinton is if he “backpedals everything he’s said.” Ahmed expressed concern about Trump’s stance toward immigrants and Muslims. He appreciates the methods of [former] state Republican Party Chairman Robert Graham, who ‘reached out’ to people in the Asian American community, like himself. Ahmed said he’s hoping this summer’s Republican convention will turn things around, but he admits it’ll be tough for a competitor like Cruz to catch up.”

Although Farhana Shifa refers to herself using the winning word “conservative” on her website, it’s clear she emerges from the same anti-Trump faction as Arizona‘s Senior Senator (ASS); his lame duck unable-to-win reelection sidekick Jeff Flake; and the former and current AZ GOP chairmen who go mute on the topic of President Trump. Their disconnect is odd, given the fact that in the Arizona GOP primary, Donald Trump carried Arizona by more than 20 percentage points, before winning the state in the General Election.
