Savage adds left hand and compact models to bolt-action B-series rifles

Savage Arms’ B series rifles are getting some new additions, with the gun maker adding compact and left handed options to the bolt action lineup.

The new rimfire models are designed to better fit smaller shooters with their ergonomic stock and compact style. The B Series boasts features like a higher comb, vertical pistol grip, top tang safety and target-style. Chambered in either .17 HMR , 22 WMR or .22 LR, the rifles offer a 10-round rotary magazine and a user-adjustable AccuTrigger.

The Left Handed models ship with a 21-inch barrel while the Compact variants come with an 18-inch barrel.

“Savage has always said, whether it’s a bigger gun, faster gun or one that fulfills a specific customer need, we strive be the leader in specialty models,” Firearms Communications Manager JJ Reich said in a statement. “The B Series’ ergonomically designed stock, higher comb, top tang safety and target-style, vertical pistol grip allow shooters to hold the rifle in a more natural position that puts less pressure on the wrist.

Savage says both the Left Hand and Compact models are shipping now, with prices starting at $279.
