A Silent Trump Voter’s Journey From Stonington, Illinois, to Washington, D.C. (Video)

Shane Bouvet is among those little known Americans from the middle of nowhere who created an unprecedented movement that sent Donald Trump to the White House as the 45th president of the United States.

“I am from Stonington, a small farm town of less than 900 people in Illinois.” Shane Bouvet is a 24-year-old blue-collar guy from rural America. He is currently working as an armed security officer for the National Guard.

Lying far outside of the establishment in Washington ,D.C., or other large metropolitan cities, he is one of the many forgotten people and silent voters who delivered Trump signs door to door, put out Trump stickers, made phone calls to their neighbors, and posted messages on social media to fuel the Trump campaign last year.

Bouvet was invited to the White House to meet with President Trump on February 9, 2018. The president praised him for being a great son who gave all of the money that he received from the president to his father for cancer treatment.

Bouvet happily took a phone interview with America Daily last week to share his story. He said very few media wanted to cover the story that he has to tell about the president.

“I want this story out to every single patriotic American and every liberal that he is a genuinely loving, caring guy. You just never hear about it.”

An American Dreamer

Bouvet is a big believer in President Trump because President Trump’s message resonates deeply with him.

“In the daytime, I campaigned for him. I was all in because we need manufacturing jobs. We lost all of our manufacturing jobs to China or Mexico,”  Bouvet said.

According to a Washington Post article from January 18, 2017, Bouvet’s grandfather once worked at a nearby mine and his father worked at a local foundry. The loss of manufacturing jobs is the loss of livelihood for rural Americans.

“I get tired of seeing people hit rock bottom… If you go to the coffee shops, the old guys talk about the old days when engines roared and things weren’t built in China,” the Washington Post article said.

He supports President Trump’s call for border security. Bouvet said he is not against immigrants. “My grandparents were immigrants. They waited in line and did it respectfully.”

“Americans are dreamers too.  I want my future children to never have to worry like my parents did. I felt we were totally left behind during the Obama administration.”

“If you look at some of the legislation that he voted for even when he was a senator, he wasn’t the guy who sat up for key issues. He is the sort of guy who shied away.”

“He never mentioned God, even in his State of the Union address.”

“Just like our President said, we don’t worship government, we worship God.”

The True Side of President Trump

When Bouvet met the president last year at his inauguration ball, both the suit he was wearing and his shoes had been donated. He told the president that his father got cancer and couldn’t afford the treatment.

“He offered his hand and gave me the money.”

Bouvet received a total of $10,000 from the president.  Bouvet gave the entire amount to his father for cancer treatment and to a friend who lost his home.  He kept nothing for himself.

His father got the much-needed treatment.  “It’s like a miracle. I remember the doctor saying, ‘We don’t know where the cancer is. It just disappeared. It’s very rare.’  I believe God definitely has a hand in it,“ Bouvet told America Daily.

When asked how he got this unexpected windfall, Bouvet said President Trump contacted him and wanted to meet him after he saw the Washington Post article.

Last year Bouvet gave everything to the cause that he believed in and traveled to Washington, D.C., in a bus to attend the president’s inauguration ceremony.

“I wanted to see him. He is my leader. He is my guy whom I picked from the beginning,” Bouvet recalled his feelings before the trip.

Speaking of his first meeting with the president, Bouvet said, “He didn’t have to contact me. I am just a blue-collar guy from a small town. He did. He connects with voters emotionally.”

“I always call him a blue-collar billionaire.  He has the best interests for America.”

“He didn’t have to run. He did because he sees the problem and he cares about America.”

Speaking the Truth to the Media

When asked about President Trump’s help to him being interpreted by some as a show or political gimmick, Bouvet said, “He gave me the money in private. He didn’t want anybody to know. It’s me who went to the media.”

“As an American citizen, I am not going to let this guy get beaten up on his character by the media when he is actually the most genuine, loving, and caring character I’ve ever met.”

“I think it’s my duty, as an American citizen, to tell the truth about this guy. I felt it is my responsibility to tell the true side about our president.”

“The way the media treats him is not an accurate description. I find it very troubling for American people.”

“This guy loves America so much. He is so passionate for America. I’ve seen his heart; I’ve seen the personal side of President Trump.”

Commenting on the negative media coverage about the president, Bouvet said, “They don’t even know this guy. They don’t know his heart. They are judging him based upon false narratives and false stories. They never spent time with him as I did.”

“He has done so many great things for American people that have never been reported. You never hear that in the news. I find it very sad because this guy…” Bouvet choked.

“This guy would give everything for America and never ask anything in return.”

“I say this not because he gave me money. I can read people’s heart. He is the most genuine guy that I’ve ever met.”

On Bouvet’s Facebook page, he said he learned a lot from the president.

When asked what he has learned from the president, he said, “It’s about giving back to your communities. Dream big and reach for the stars. Doing the right thing for your country. Never give up, never stop dreaming, never stop believing.”

“We are all united by the red, white, and blue flag of America.”

Bouvet is thankful for where he is now. “I was part of something bigger than myself, and I was blessed to be part of it.”
