Makeup Trend: Bold Eye AND Lip

The bold makeup trends just get our hearts racing. We love creating a bold and beautiful makeup look and this new trend for 2017 has seen many rocking both a bold eye and a bold lip. In previous seasons it seemed it was either/or, but not this time. This time, it’s time to bring it on!

The bold eye and lip are a go and we can’t run fast enough to create this look. With the help of Heather, our director of education, we’ve got a few fun and friendly tips to create this bold and dramatic look effortlessly.

Heather says to go wild and create a strong smoky eye using the Nude and Naughty Eye Shadow Palette and then finish the look with a fiery red lip, like the Award Show Lip Stain, to create a look that will stay dramatic and powerful all day long. The lip stains are ultra-long-lasting, but if you want to line your lips before applying, that will help lock the look in place and keep the boldness in full effect!

Heather says a rookie mistake when creating an extra bold smoky eye is to do the eye last. Since it can leave a mess around your eye and under your eye, do the bold colors on your eye first, then apply your foundation and concealer so the eye color is only on your lid. You don’t want to have a bold and messy look, right? Keep the rest of your makeup pretty simple. No heavy contouring or heavy blush, just focus on the eyes and the lips and you’ve got the look!
