President Trump Orders Troop Withdrawals From Syria AND Afghanistan

In a stunning but welcome turn of events, President Donald Trump has announced in the last 36 hours the withdrawal of U.S. troops from both Syria and Afghanistan.

Wednesday the President announced plans to withdraw all of the approximately 2,200 U.S. troops currently in Syria, a move consistent with his 2016 Presidential Campaign:

The announcement is a welcome development for Trump’s base which has recently grown increasingly frustrated. Dissatisfaction has been compounded by the Democrats’ pending takeover of the House of Representatives plus sharp criticism directed at the President by both Tucker Carlson and Ann Coulter in the last two weeks.

The formerly anti-war mainstream media immediately called President Trump’s judgement into question. Eileen Sullivan of The New York Times noted “mounting criticism from Republicans and Democrats and concerns from his military and diplomatic advisers.”

CNN predictably protested that the move goes against the advice of military and national security advisers.

Thursday evening Secretary of Defense James ‘Mad Dog’ Mattis announced that he will resign in February, explicitly citing disagreement over the decision to withdraw American troops from Syria.

President Trump doubled down Thursday night, announcing orders to bring home some 7,000 troops from Afghanistan (about half) in the coming weeks and months. The war in Afghanistan has been ongoing since 2001 and is one of the longest wars in U.S. history.

As TLB has repeatedly noted, the foreign policy establishment in Washington has rarely been challenged. This explains why objectively the foreign policy of the George W. Bush and Barack Hussein Obama Administrations were for all intents and purposes homogeneous.

There is very little chance that the troops will be allowed to simply leave the Middle East Theater. The probability of a major false flag right now must be considered extremely elevated.

It is excellent news that Trump is willing to defy the warmongering Deep State swamp creatures and bring American troops home. He ran on this platform, and it is what the American people voted for. The way the warmongers and war profiteers and globalists have been abusing the U.S. military to enrich themselves and advance their little New World Order is completely unacceptable–and it is unconstitutional. If they want war, they should at least get a Declaration from Congress, as required by the Constitution. Good for Trump. Let’s hope we see much more of this in the weeks and months ahead.
