The US Maintains Intense Pressure on Venezuela With Fresh Sanctions

Among the country’s figures already placed under the  US restrictions are the president’s wife, Cilia Adela Flores de Maduro, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Eloina Rodrigues Lopez, and Minister of Defence for the National Armed Forces Vladimir Padrino Lopez.

The United States Treasury Department has imposed fresh sanctions on Venezuelan officials amid the political and economic crisis in the country. The list this time includes four individuals: Ramon Carrizalez, the governor of the Venezuelan state of Apure, who has previously served as vice president of Venezuela, and Jorge Garcia Carneiro, the governor of the state of Vargas, who previously served as the head of the Venezuelan Army and minister of defense. The United States has also imposed sanctions on the governor of the Venezuelan state of Carabobo, Rafael Lacava, and the governor of the state of Zulia, Omar Prieto.

US Senator Posts Pic of Gaddafi’s Murder as Pompeo Says Maduro’s Days ‘Numbered’

The development comes as the situation in crisis-torn Venezuela reached the boiling point over the weekend when trucks laden with US humanitarian aid on the Colombian and Brazilian borders repeatedly tried to push past lines of troops loyal to President Nicolas Maduro.

US Senator Marco Rubio has tweeted two photos of late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi – one showing him alive and well and still at the helm of the country, while the other featured his bloodied face as he was being brutally tortured before his murder.

Brazil Won’t Allow US to Use Its Territory to Invade Venezuela – Reports>/center

Brazil would not allow the United States to intervene military in Venezuela from country’s territory, Brazil’s vice president Hamilton Mourao said Monday in an interview with the Globo News Broadcaster, cited by Reuters.

Speaking at the Lima group meeting in Bogota, country’s vice president and retired general Mourao said that Brazil would do all it can to avoid a conflict with neighboring Venezuela, Reuters reported, citing the Globo News.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian National Public Security Force has expanded the security cordon in the border area with Venezuela to alleviate tensions following recent clashes, a Sputnik correspondent reported from the scene on Monday.

Pompeo Looking for Cause to Start War Against Caracas – Venezuelan Minister>center<

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza has accused US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo of orchestrating the torching of trucks with Venezuela-bound humanitarian aid on the Colombian border and of “desperately” looking for a reason to start a war against Caracas.

“Secretary Pompeo, a CIA [US Central Intelligence Agency] specialist on false flag operations, thinks that he will fool the world with the truck that was set on fire in Colombia by his own agents… Pompeo and his hit men are desperately looking for a cause for war. Today, the operation failed. If you want to find those who burnt the truck with fake humanitarian aid, look for them among your own staff”, Arreaza said via his official Twitter feed.
