The same thing with marriage licenses. That’s a church business. What is the government doing here? I thought we separated church and State? Marriage was invented by GOD, not the government. They have no business issuing a dagdamn license like we need one from them. The church officiates, the Church marries, the Church keeps the official documents. We don’t marry in no frigg’n government office. And we don’t need no frigg’n government license.

It’s not likely this bill is going anywhere. It’s mostly some liberal snowflakes doing their election-year virtue signaling to their liberal electorate.
If you look up SB1625 on the Arizona Legislature website (http://azleg.gov) you can find its status and also the stated positions of legislators on the bill. As of this writing the bill has 12 sponsors and another 8 legislators who support it. On the other hand, there are 64 legislators who oppose the bill.
