PINE CONE: Mythic Origins from Assyria, Dionysus, Caduceus to the Vatican.

The Pine Cone’s interpenetrating spirals that wind clockwise and anti-clockwise have a specific fibonacci-number signature or encoding referred to as 8:13. Dionysus, also called Bacchus or (in Rome) Liber Pater, in Greco-Roman religion, a nature god of fruitfulness and vegetation, was especially known as a god of wine and ecstasy, and is portrayed with a staff made of fennel and tipped by a pine cone called a “Thyrsus” and entwined with ivy leaves, grape leaves and berries. This staff represents fertility and prosperity and could turn a rock into water and the water into wine, and was often tossed in the Bacchic dance.
