Save-A-Pet’s Hounds on the Sound Features Dogs for Adoption, Live Entertainment and Contests

            Who:   Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center

           What:   The 14^th Annual Hounds on the Sound 3K Dog Walk and Adoption Event will take place at beautiful Port Jefferson Harbor Memorial Park. Approximately 150-200 dogs will be there, along with vendors, food, contests and raffles, with live music courtesy of Act1Entertainment.net to keep everyone entertained. In addition, there will be animals available for adoption from Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue and Adoption Center and a demonstration from the Suffolk County Police K-9 Unit.

          When:   Sunday, June 9

                        10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

• 10 a.m. — Registration Begins.
• 11 a.m. — Walk begins.
• 11 a.m. — Demonstration with Suffolk County Police K-9 Unit.
• 11:30 a.m. — Festivities begin. Games, food vendors, various demonstrations.
• 1:00 p.m. — Contests begin: Biggest Dog, Smallest Dog, Best Trick, and Best Costume, Owner/Dog Look-alike.
• 2:00 p.m. — Canine Fashion Show. Fashions by Fetch, Doggy Boutique and Bakery.

         Where:   Port Jefferson Harbor Memorial Park, Route 25A in Port Jefferson.

   Photo Op:   The 150-200dogs and their owners participating in the walk amid the backdrop of picturesque Port Jefferson Harbor and Long Island Sound. Dogs from the Suffolk County Police K-9 Unit performing at a demonstration.

Directions:     Long Island Expressway to Exit 64 (Rte. 112) North to Port Jefferson. Head north on Route 112. After the train tracks, Rte. 112 becomes Rte. 25A. Take Rte. 25A to the end, then make a left. The park is on the right-hand side, across the street from Port Jefferson Village Hall.
