Little Black Kitty Synchronicity

Rose De Dan, Wild Reiki and Shamanic Healing LLC, is a mesa carrier in the Peruvian Andean Medicine Tradition, Reiki Master Teacher, animal communicator, author and artist. In practice and in partnership with her companion animals, Rose offers private sessions and ceremonies for humans and animals, and teaches classes and workshops in Reiki and shamanism in Seattle, Washington.

This story originally happened in September, I just haven’t had time to post it until now.

Oh my gosh, what a day! Saw a post this morning at 9:30 a.m. on NextDoor where a walker reported hearing kittens crying last evening. She tried to rescue the two little black kittens she saw, but they ran away. She gave the location and I decided to check it out since I lived only a block away.

I trilled a momma cat call and got a response from inside a truck parked in the driveway. The first time I thought I heard two kittens, but later I discovered only one. I knocked and knocked on the door of the house, but got no answer. I put a note on the vehicle, and went to the house next door, where I discovered a fellow animal lover in both the homeowner (Stan) and the handyman who was working there.

Stan started calling around to try and locate his neighbor or someone else who might have a key to the truck.

I called animal control, but they said there was nothing they could do without the owner’s permission to get in the vehicle.

After sitting with the kitten and talking back and forth for a while I felt I had established a slight connection, but the kitten was unwilling to come out. I asked my power animal if he could guide the little one out and he was willing to give it a try.

When I came back to recheck the kitten sounded like it was in a different place. I finally located it up against the concrete retaining wall scrunched behind a set of movable steps. Looking at this little one’s unblinking response to me I could tell it was feral. But it did want help.

By this time Stan had come back to check on the situation, and offered to help catch the wee black one who I looked less than 6 weeks old. Stan volunteered to grab the little one while I blocked the exit. I thought him a brave man, since I was certain this kitten was feral. He was successful in the grab, but got bitten and scratched for his troubles, poor man. Little Black Kitty might be small, but was she was fully armed.

So, I brought her home and offered food and water, which were accepted when I was not looking. Pamela of Feral Cat Assistance and Trapping kindly came by to take a look at the wee one, and it turned out she was a girl and only four weeks old! Poor dear. She had no ear mites and looked overall healthy. Little Black Kitty is now on her way to foster care and I sent Reiki to the situation on her behalf so that she receives the best possible care and forever home.

And just when I thought I could settle down and relax from several hours of rescue, my mighty hunter cat Manitou showed up with his trophy rat…of course I showered him with praise, and salmon treats and built a Bridge of Light for the deceased. And then I turned the rat over to the crow undertakers.

Now I need a cup of tea and a small break before getting to work…Gratitude for all the kind people who were willing to jump in and help. Amazing how it all evolved. Some serious little black kitty synchronicity!
