أتلانتا، الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية (CNN) — كشفت مصادر لـCNN، حصريا، بأن العشرات من عناصر وكالة الاستخبارات المركزية الأمريكية “سي آي أيه”، كانوا في مدينة ببغازي الليبية، ساعة الهجوم على القنصلية الأمريكية العام الماضي، ولجوء الجهاز التجسسي إلى تدابير غير مسبوقة لإسكات موظفين لضمان سرية مهمته هناك.

وأسفر الهجوم عن مصرع أربعة أمريكيين، من بينهم السفير كريستوفر ستيفنس، في 11 سبتمبر/أيلول الماضي.

ورغم التحقيقات الموسعة التي أجريت حول الهجوم، إلا أن هناك العديد من الخفايا بشأن بعثة بنغازي، وعدد الأمريكيين، الذين كانوا في مقر القنصلية ومبن آخر ملحق بها ساعة الهجوم المسلح، والذين قدرهم المصدر بـ35 شخصا، أصيب 7 منهم بجراح، إصابة بعضهم بليغة.

ورغم عدم اتضاح عدد عناصر الجهاز التجسسي ضمن العدد الكلي لمن كانوا في القنصلية إلا أن المسؤول لفت إلى أن 21 أمريكيا كانوا بداخل المبنى، الذي يعرف بـ”الملحق”، والذي تديره “سي آي أيه.”

وعلمت الشبكة بأن جهاز الاستخبارات المركزي، ضالع فيما ما وصفه أحد المسؤولين بـ”تدابير غير مسبوقة،” لإخفاء طبيعة مهمته في بنغازي ومنع تسريب أسرارها، وذلك بتعريض العاملين هناك، ربما شهريا، لاختبارات كشف الكذب.

وفسر أحدهم تلك التدابير بأنها محاولة من “سي آي أيه” لضمان عدم تحدث الموظفين إلى وسائل الإعلام أو الكونغرس.

ووصف أحد المشاركين في بعثة بنغازي، بحسب مكاتبات حصلت الشبكة عليها بشكل حصري: “لا تعرض نفسك للخطر فحسب، بل عائلتك كذلك”، وتقول أخرى: “لا علم لأحد بحجم الضغوط الهائلة التي يتعرض له أي شخص على دراية بهذه العملية.”

وشرح روبرت باير، العميل السابق بوكالة الاستخبارات المركزية الأمريكية ، والمحلل بـCNN، إن كافة العاملين بالجهاز التجسسي يخضعون لاختبارات كشف الكذب كل ثلاث أو أربع سنوات”، مضيفاً: “بالتأكيد إنه ليس بأمر تقليدي إجراء فحص الكذب بشكل شهري أو كل شهرين حتى.”

وبالمقابل، أكدت الوكالة، وعلى لسان المتحدث الرسمي باسمها، دين بويد، تعاونها مع الكونغرس، بشأن التحقيقات حول هجوم بنغازي: “موظفو الوكالة دائما لهم مطلق الحرية في الحديث إلى الكونغرس.”

وأعرب النائب الجمهوري عن فيرجينيا، فرانك وولف، عن انزعاجه إزاء قلة المعلومات المتاحة في هذا الشأن ومحاولات إسكات عملاء “سي آي أيه.”

وأضاف وولف، الذي يقع المقر الرئيسي لوكالة الاستخبارات المركزية في ضاحية “لانغلي” ضمن نطاق ولايته: “هناك نوع من التغطية والتعتيم ومحاولة إخفاء معلومات.”

ويشار إلى أن وولف قاد حملة للمطالبة بتشكيل لجنة للتحقيق حول الإخفاقات ببنغازي، والكشف عن مهام وزارة الخارجية ووكالة الاستخبارات المركزية هناك.

وردت الخارجية على استفسارات الشبكة في هذا الشأن برسالة إلكترونية، قالت فيها نساعد الحكومة الليبية الجديدة في تدمير الأسلحة “المعطوبة” أو “القديمة” وتلك “غير الآمنة للتخزين.”

فيما لم تعقب وكالة الاستخبارات المركزية بشأن إذا ما شاركت بالفعل في نقل أي أسلحة من ليبيا.

ويطالب المشرعون الأمريكيون بمعرفة مصير أسلحة ليبيا، ولفترة، راجت في الكابيتول هيل، تكهنات بأن أجهزة أمريكية عملت سراً في بنغازي للمساعدة في نقل صواريخ أرض جو من ليبيا، وعبر تركيا، إلى ثوار سوريا.
