I painted this while in Oregon last summer. I attended the plein air festival in Hood River along the gorge. The paintings needed to be picked up later and I was returning by plane to Phoenix. So, I had my sister pick up the paintings later for me. We didn’t get around to shipping them off to me, so my sister just hung onto them until I got back. I was in Oregon recently visiting family. While I was there I shipped this painting along with some others back to my home in Phoenix. With them back here, I was able to take some good photos of the paintings. So now they are ready to sell and post on my website.

I’m back working in my studio this week. I had quite a bit of catching up on business this last week plus an art show on Friday at the Royal Palms Resort in Scottsdale. The Celebration of Fine Art, a 10 week art show in Scottsdale (I participated in this show for about 12 to 15 years before taking off the last 3 years) and the Royal Palms Resort collaborated on the event. Susan from the Celebration hand picked all the art to display in the resort. Each piece is for sale and will be hanging continuously there just as any other gallery. There are, I think 4 sculptors, 1 clay artist and about 6 or 7 painters. The resort is a historic property which has been remodeled and going through more remodeling. As they remodel they are updating their lighting to accommodate the artwork.

About 200 people attended the opening. The resort has an intimate feeling and the artwork showed very well, feeling as though it is in someone’s home. All of my paintings were in the Cervantes Room (the library with a fabulous fireplace and couches around it). This is the Arizona Room. All my paintings are desert and local plein air paintings. I have 5 small plein air paintings above the bookcases with sconces in between. Above the bar is one of my large paintings and also one above a table.

There was a great response. Everyone loved the venue. People were mingling and taking a tour through the different areas looking at the art. Several pieces of artwork were sold. I sold one of the large paintings which was above the bar. That made my night. I felt that that was one of my best paintings to date. Below are some of the photos of the show.
