This painting was inspired by a Colorado painting trip. I tried to keep the painting cooler in color than some of my sunsets with the blues of the mountains and many layers of trees. Brushwork is something that I love to play with, so much fun. Yesterday, I spent some time looking at several of my paintings and writing down my inspiration. I found it surprising to find that almost every single painting had the same component that I think of when painting… quiet and solitude. They are both feelings that I love when I am outdoors all by myself. I knew that I love those quiet walks by myself, but I didn’t realize that that was where I was in most of my paintings.
