Kingsley and Phila release new LP 'Fire Fall'

The fusion reggae artists known as Kingsley and Phila have released their new LP record album, titled, “Fire Fall,” to widespread critical and fan acclaim. The album is comprised of fully 18 original tracks for an approximate total listening time of one hour and 20 minutes. It has been released with great fanfare on the Netherlands’ own Underloc music record label. Standing for “Under the Love of Christ,” Underloc is a Christian gospel music label, and as such Kingsley and Phila are a gospel reggae and dancehall music crew of musicians, their album intuitively being a work of worship, celestial glorification and spiritual exploration.

Kingsley and Phila originate from Uganda. They cite as main artistic influence the work of Bob Marley and the Wailers. Operating originally as solo artists, Kingsley and Phila each followed in Marley’s footsteps in their own way, only coming together as a duo after years of performing on their own. By 2008 they had forged a new sound unique to themselves. By marrying contemporary electronic dance music and traditional reggae tones, Kingsley and Phila managed to make a sound that was not only popular in the Netherlands, but all over the world. Their reggae sound, typically found in its home base of Jamaica between the Americas, actually has its heart and soul in two friends from Africa.

They are known for their catchy songs and good beats, but what they think is the most important thing is that the Christian message in their music comes across to audiences.”

Kingsley and Phila received the Ugandan Olive award in 2011 for the Reggae category. In the Netherlands they have scored seven hit singles over merely six months’ time.
