Diane and Mildred with the GMA Band release new singles “Someday Eternity Will Begin” and “But for the Manger”

The duo of bluegrass gospel music known as Diane and Mildred have released their latest music, a pair of singles titled “Someday Eternity Will Begin” and “But for the Manger,” both recorded with the GMA Band. Each of the songs is a contemporary instant classic, much like music previously released by Diane and Mildred with the GMA (Gospel Music Arts) Band. Fans of bluegrass and gospel – and especially fans of both – are certain to find a rare treasure in this traditional American music lovingly created for the glorification of the Christian God.

Diane and Mildred cite as main artistic influences such legends as Dottie Rambo, Dolly Parton, the Cox Family, Mavis Staples, Margie Sullivan, Dr. Ralph Stanley and others. They note as an aside, too, that “There are so many, we don’t have space to name them all.”

Diane and Mildred’s now-famous bluegrass duet sounds have graced both radio and television as well as countless stages. Their earnest devotion to the Gospel is evident in the heartfelt timbre of their singing, which strikes the listener’s ears with an untrammeled beauty and warm, friendly tone.

With the help of the GMA Band, Diane and Mildred have made it their personal mission to “actively transform communities by changing attitudes about the surprising transformational gifts of gospel music,” as is stated in their official bio.

Mildred Statzer, a multi-instrumentalist and natural-born performer, has the uncanny ability to sing harmonies at will behind any melody line sung to her. She is a veteran musician of gospel music, having performed on the road and at home for many years with the popular band, Gospel Melodies. She is an outspoken born-again believer of the Christian faith.

Diane McKoy, also a devout believer, was the co-founder of the only known bluegrass gospel band from New York City, which she started with Russell Scholl.
