I have been on the, distant, fringes of this technology for years. Initially the materials was a hard plastic, some variations were dry wall mud. I guess the plastics have improved (and now have four color capability). Perhaps some sort of metals may be produced now as well. But, last I saw, we are talking physically fragile plastics or metals. I doubt that Crescent wrench Jay Leno is holding could take any real torque.

i used to have dreams all the time(about 10-15 years ago) about this machine that could ‘replicate’ exactly anything… however, the replicated part was only a ‘look-alike’… in other words, it didn’t ‘function’ at all….. it just ‘looked’ like the real thing… i never could figure this out … and to this day, i still don’t understand what is the meaning of these dreams
