Vatican corrects infallible pope: atheists will still burn in hell

What a relief. For a brief moment there it was possible to imagine a brave new world of compassion, generosity and acceptance, not qualities we have come to associate with the Holy See.
Said Pope Francis this week: ‘The Lord has redeemed all of us, all of us, with the Blood of Christ: all of us, not just Catholics. Everyone! ‘Father, the atheists?’ Even the atheists. Everyone!’
That seemed like a pretty clear admission that people of other faiths and none have intrinsic worth to God and will be saved alongside the faithful. But this turned out to be wishful thinking.
Although they are otherwise good, moral people they are still doomed to burn in a lake of fire for having the temerity to have been born outside of Catholicism or having chosen to remain so.
The Rev. Thomas Rosica, a Vatican spokesman, spelled it out for the world on Thursday. People who know about the Catholic church ‘cannot be saved’ if they ‘refuse to enter her or remain in her,’ he said.
So that’s one tall order of eternal hellfire for the rest of us, then.
It makes for an interesting spectacle to see the infallible pope being corrected by his handlers, doesn’t it? For a moment it was possible to recall the welcoming and indulgent style of the short lived Pope John Paul I in the unexpectedly all-embracing words of Pope Francis. But you’ll recall how quickly John Paul I was replaced by the much more doctrinaire John Paul II.
There’s no question that Pope Francis sees the divinity in all human beings, but that’s a message that comes with caveats. God may make them all, Jew and Gentile, but unless they’re Catholic they’re ultimately kindling. The Vatican waited 24 hours to correct him, but they corrected him.
Yes, yes, the Council of Trent clearly taught that Jesus Christ, humanity’s one and only Redeemer, redeemed both Jew and Gentile. But there is a huge difference between redemption and salvation. See how that works? Judas Iscariot was redeemed by Christ’s death on the cross, but he was not saved – Catholics believe he is damned in hell.
To be justified requires faith – and that faith must be Catholic. You see where this is going?
If I was Pope Francis, I’d be employing a food tester right about now.

Extremely ignorant commentary about a subject the “reporter” apparently knows nothing about.
The Holy Father is only “infallible” when speaking ex cathedra (from the chair) on matters of faith and morals. For the past 2,000 years, popes (despite varying degrees of adversity) have consistently been correct when expostulating on faith and morals. No other institution has even come close to matching this level of consistency.
You mean the past 1’600 years, not 2’000. Christianity was not created until the 4 to 5th century CE by the completely insane despotic dictator Roman emperor Constantine.
What morals are you talking about? Accusing people of blaspheming literalised plagiarised ancient astronomical allegory, stealing their wealth (there’s a really good reason why the ‘church’ is so wealthy), torturing them till they confess to being evil, and then publicly executing them by burning them alive, by the untold millions. That is draconian barbarianism, not morality.
With endless sexual child abuse in their hallways? The institution lost the way of God a long time ago. There may have been good popes but you cant mistake it for the goodness of the institution of religion. Man does not speak for God. God speaks for God. One you can trust, one you may not. Ask the kids who turned to God for help and were instead hurt.

Atheists are already in hell, one created by barbaric dark age religions. A few generations ago atheists were prevented from gaining an education, from a teaching career, from publishing any literature of any kind. If they publically admitted to being an atheist they were falsely imprisoned, had their wealth confiscated by the ‘church’. If female they had their breasts ripped off, if male their scrotums crushed to prevent them from rearing children. They gouged out eyes, ripped out fingernails, crushed, stabbed, wracked, stoned, hung, beheaded and burned people alive by the untold millions.
If you happened to be accidentally born a non Christian in the Americas for example, your children would be kidnapped and forced to attend Christian boarding schools, where they were told how evil they and their native culture is, and how worthless. They were also murdered by the untold millions. And their bodies unceremoniously buried in unmarked graves somewhere in the school grounds without even having the decency to tell the parents their kid had died.
If you happened to be accidentally born a black African, you were considered a monkey, captured, flogged and sold into slavery. They were murdered by the tens of millions.
You have some damn nerve calling other people evil and heading straight to hell, when you are the ones responsible for creating hell on Earth.
Atheists, at a minimum, will burn in Hell for all eternity. To say “you’re an atheist”, you “influence other people”.
This means, to God, you are like a cancer. And treated as such.
Atheists scream, at the top of their lungs, for all eternity.

When the pope said “The Lord has redeemed all of us, all of us, with the Blood of Christ”, he meant only what is mentioned in John 3:16, that God loves the whole world and has provided Jesus to the whole world. Now that Jesus has come into the world, “he who does not believe in him is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God”.
