pete has a special kind of following – people who are more like howard stern (who he clearly tries to emulate as a “shock jock”) fans than the average aware, awake, motivated “Truthers.” pete could go on air and talk about how he just tortured a box of kittens last night, and these morons would cheer him, somewhere in between listening to their insane clown posse records and watching WWF wrestling while cooking up another box of kraft macaroni and cheese. they’re simply not the brightest bunch of folks around, which has earned them the collective monicker of “sh-ttoheads.”.
i’ve been critical of pete basically since he got his start – when he was touting tila tequila as the solution to the world’s ills (LOL) – and calling him out on his blatant racism, misogyny, abject idiocy, and a special kind of egomania for which that term does no justice. back in one of those comments threads, susannah cole stated that pete was on vinny eastwood’s show and the two were on good terms. this baffled me, as i could not figure out why in the hell vinny would tolerate him. i’ve listened to vinny’s show often, i like him, and i consider myself a good judge of character. i think vinny’s heart is in the right place – at the VERY least, he’s not a flaming egomaniac who’s simply doing his show as an exercise in verbal public masturbation. pete, however, IS AT LEAST that, and possibly far worse…
