Read on to find out how to put your blender to use with 10 great blender recipes.

Up Your Cooking Game with these 10 Blender Recipes

A blender can make food preparation and cooking much easier, but only if you know how to use it properly. Here’s some inspiration for how to use yours.

1. Honey Mustard Vinaigrette

Salad dressings are one of the best things to make in a blender.

There’s no need to stock up on lots of different bottles and jars. Instead, you can throw a dressing together with some ingredients you already have at home.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1/4 cup of white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup of distilled white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup of olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of honey dijon mustard
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of whole grain dijon mustard
  • 4 tablespoons of honey
  • Pepper to taste

Blend them all until combined, then throw the dressing straight onto your salad. Any leftovers can be kept in an airtight container in your fridge.

2. Hummus

Pre-made hummus is expensive. Cut out the middleman and make your own with this easy recipe!

  • 1 can of chickpeas, drained
  • 2 tablespoons of tahini
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

If it’s a little too thick, you can add up to 1/2 a cup of water to make it smoother.

3. Roasted Red Pepper Soup

Soup is one of the quickest and easiest blender meals you can make.

The best thing about it is that there are so many different types. You can experiment with lots of different ingredients and varieties. Before you do so, start with this roasted red pepper recipe.

You can either roast your peppers yourself or buy them in a jar from the supermarket. Once you have them, you can use them in this recipe:

  • 4 roasted red peppers
  • 1 can of whole peeled tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable stock
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon of black pepper
  • 1 clove of garlic, grated
  • 1 shallot, peeled and diced
  • 1 tablespoon of basil

Puree all of these together in a blender for around two minutes, and you should have a smooth consistency. Then, you can heat it up in a pot or store it in the fridge to cook for later.

4. Homemade Peanut Butter

A lot of the peanut butter brands you can buy in stores are loaded with oils, sugars, and preservatives. When you make it at home, you can cut out all of these nasty ingredients and make a purer, healthier alternative.

It’s so easy to do! All you have to do is throw 2-3 cups of raw, unsalted peanuts into a blender and turn it on.

First, they’ll start to crumble into small pieces. Keep the blender running until you achieve a smooth consistency. This may take a few minutes.

You’ll need a high-quality blender for the job, so shop around for the best ninja blender first.

If you like, you can add extra ingredients like honey, cinnamon, salt or oil to adjust the taste. Once you’ve learned how to do this, you’ll never buy branded peanut butter again!

5. Almond Flour

Almond flour is great for gluten-free cooking. If you have a blender, it’s oh-so-easy to make.

Just throw blanched and peeled almonds straight into the machine!

Use the pulse setting. Otherwise, you could end up making almond butter instead.

6. Mashed Potatoes

Do your mashed potatoes always end up lumpy? It can be difficult to get that smooth, creamy texture when you mash them by hand. That’s why you should use a blender.

Once you’ve boiled your potatoes, throw them into your blender with a few spoonfuls of butter. You’ll get the perfect mash in seconds!

Just make sure you don’t blend the mixture for too long. Otherwise, the starch molecules will break down too much and you’ll end up with runny mashed potatoes.

7. Budget Baby Food

Jarred baby foods could be harming your baby. That’s because these processed meals are packed with preservatives.

When your family is sitting down to healthy, home-cooked meals, why not make the same for your child? If you knew how easy it was, you’d always make your own baby food from scratch.

You can use just about any fruits or vegetables to make baby food. Just make sure you remove the peels first, as these can be hard for infants to digest.

Steam vegetables first, then puree them in the blender for a minute or two before serving. Fruits can be used raw.

Combinations like banana and spinach, carrot and apple or lentil and butternut squash should go down well.

Even if you don’t have kids, this is a handy trick to know. Perhaps you’re looking to go on the baby food diet yourself!

8. Pancake Batter

You don’t need to tire yourself out endlessly whisking away to make a great pancake batter. Throw all your ingredients in a blender for a quick fix!

Here’s everything you need for yummy, fluffy pancakes:

  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoons of white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

Blend them together for just a few seconds while you’re waiting for oil to heat in the pan. Then, you’re ready to start frying.

9. Refried Beans

You can make delicious refried beans in just 5 minutes with a blender.

Simply drain a can of black beans, kidney beans or pinto beans and throw them in. Blend them until they’re smooth, then put them in a pot over medium heat. Add lime juice, cumin and other spices to taste.

10. Guacamole

Everyone loves guacamole! You can throw it together minutes before any party, meal or get-together to make everyone happy.

Here’s the recipe:

  • 1 large avocados
  • 1 jalapeno
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 cup of cilantro leaves
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoons of lime juice

First, blend all the ingredients except the avocado until they’re smooth. Then, add the avocado and pulse to form a thick mixture. Then, you’re done!

Blend Your Coffee Beans, Too!
