Did They Really Fight for Freedom?

I recently came across a Christian-patriotic page that had one page of supporting American veterans, along with links to other veteran sites. They wrote about their fighting so America could remain free. I don’t understand this. Here is a group that knows about the loss of our freedoms, and are basically right of center. But why this?

I’m not against the American soldier, per se, but anyone who knows a little about history, certainly knows that they haven’t preserved our freedom. When an organization knows of the corruption of our government, how can they support our troops? It is the corrupt and evil government that sends our troops to war. Do you think they do it on behalf of freedom, when they do everything they can to take freedom away from its own citizens? Hardly! If we examine the countries we fought against, it certainly didn’t help the people in those nations—with the exception of Marxist Socialists—but it certainly didn’t help us at home.

Let’s take a look at any war in the 20^th century. I will have to make this brief, so as not to make this into a history book.

The First World War: Germany was no threat to us, yet we fought them. In fact, we made it into a World War, by our entering it, which resulted in other nations joing in the war. The outcome? More deaths.

The Second World War: Again, Germany was no threat to us, but Communist Russia was. But did we go to war against Russia? No! By fighting Germany, we helped Communist Russia, and with it, gave a hand in sending half of Europe and half of Germany to be enslaved. Some freedom. Now, this was over 50 years ago. Do you think that our government is any better? No. It’s much worse.

The Iraqi War: “There is a dictator there that threatens the world.” Hardly. They might threaten Israel, but so what. Israel threatens them. There will always be wars, but that doesn’t mean we should be involved in them. There are only a few nations that sends their  troops to fight in all the wars (Great Britain and France). But what if we were like the rest of the nations. Would the world go to pieces? Hardly.  If, from the start, the United States kept its nose out of everyone else’s problems, the world would think nothing of it. In fact, it would be normal.

When so-called patriots say we are keeping peace in the world, which, by the way, the Liberals say, too, consider this: What is peace? What is  freedom? Isn’t it to have laws that suit the majority’s needs? To not be hamper in business or home by a multitude of government red tape? By not have your money taken away from you in the form of taxes? If you recognize this as freedom be taken away, how can anything we do overseas help us? It hasn’t. Even if we did protect the freedom of others, which some people claim, what the hell good is it when our own freedom is being taken away? Maybe it’s better to live in another country. If they did, they would see that they won’t have freedom there, too.

Don’t forget, with each war we get involved in, that cost American taxpayers more money, which a means of taking their property. We also have the loss of life—which cannot be replaced. So, with all this loss, in both the human element and the material, that means that much less for protection at home if we should be invaded.

Look at the National Guards that were sent into Mississippi back in the early 60s to enforce mixed schools, which was against the will of the people. What are they (national Guards)? Nothing more than domestic soldiers. Look at the policemen when they confiscate your guns because you don’t have a permit, or when they take money from you, because they “think” it’s drug money. Or when they kidnap your child because a neighbor saw some bruises on your child, and called in—anonymously—a child abuse case. What are they? But another form of domestic soldiers. What do you think the government would do if many people didn’t obey a law that took away their freedom? They would send in regular military soldiers. In fact, they have already done this. So, should we “defend our troops?” Hell, no!

Oh, it sounds so good and patriotic when we say we defend and support our  troops. Yeh, we support them alright, with our tax dollars. But is this what we should do? No, not if you really know what has been happening to our country. It would be nice to support them, but we can only do this when the government becomes the servant of the People, and not our masters.
