all Street’s greed, recklessness, and illegal behavior drove this country into the worst recession since the Great Depression. For too long, this billionaire class has corrupted our political system. We must act decisively to make our economy fair again.
Wall Street’s dangerous manipulation of our economy has helped divert most of all new income to the top one percent, contributing to the most unequal level of wealth and income distribution of any major country on earth.
Today, we live in the richest country in the history of the world, but that reality means little because much of that wealth is controlled by a tiny handful of individuals. The skyrocketing level of income and wealth inequality is not only grotesque and immoral, it is economically unsustainable.
The reality is that for the past 40 years, Wall Street and the billionaire class have rigged the rules to redistribute wealth and income to the wealthiest and most powerful people in this country. As a result, Wall Street exists as an island unto itself, benefiting only the extremely wealthy while using our money to get rich.
Tax Wall Street Speculation to Make College Tuition Free
Too many firms on Wall Street using high-speed trading to try to make a quick buck. But it’s risky and unproductive. Banks can execute thousands of stock trades a second thanks to sophisticated computer algorithms.
Wall Street can keep doing this if it wants—but they’ll have to pay a tax on every one of those trades. And this tax on Wall Street speculation would be enough to pay for my plan to make tuition free at every public college or university.
Break Up Banks that are Too Big to Fail
In the midst of all of this grotesque inequality in our country sits a handful of financial institutions that are still so large, the failure of any one would cause catastrophic risk to millions of Americans and send the world economy into crisis.
Most of the major Wall Street financial institutions that we bailed out because they were “too big to fail” are now bigger than they used to be. The six largest financial institutions now have assets equivalent to nearly 60% of our GDP, issue 35% of the mortgages, and oversee 65% of credit cards.
My view: If it’s too big to fail, it’s too big to exist. That’s the bottom line. As president, I will break up the big banks and restore some sanity to our banking system.
Make Banking Boring: Reign in the Recklessness
Banking should be boring. It shouldn’t be about making as much profit as possible by gambling on esoteric financial products. The goal of banking should be to provide affordable loans to small and medium-sized businesses in the productive economy, and to Americans who need to purchase homes and cars.
That is not what these huge financial institutions are doing. They’re instead creating an economy which is not sustainable from a moral, economic, or political perspective. It’s a rigged economy that must be changed in fundamental ways.
We need banks that invest in the job-creating productive economy. We do not need more speculation with the American economy hanging in the balance.
Unrig the Tax System
Our tax system is wildly unfair — rigged to benefit the very rich. Major corporations that earn billions in profits stash their money in tax havens and pay nothing in federal income taxes, while billionaire hedge fund managers pay a lower effective tax rate than nurses or teachers.
In order to reverse the massive transfer of wealth and income from the middle class to the very rich that we have seen in recent years, we need real tax reform which makes the wealthy and profitable corporations begin to pay their fair share of taxes. It is fiscally irresponsible that the U.S. Treasury loses about $100 billion a year because corporations and the rich stash their profits in the Cayman Islands, Bermuda and other tax havens.
We need a tax system which is fair and progressive. Children should not go hungry in this country while profitable corporations and the wealthy avoid their tax responsibilities.

The issue of wealth and income inequality is the great moral issue of our time, it is the great economic issue of our time, and it is the great political issue of our time.
I can understand how this might feel daunting. We are up against a billionaire class that has bought our political system to enrich itself, and is now faced with the breakup of their oligarchy.
Know this: when people come together to organize, we can beat any amount of money thrown around by the Koch Brothers, Goldman Sachs executives, or anyone else.
Our political revolution is underway, and when it is built, we will win not just against Wall Street, but we will win the White House.

Between what Bernie Sanders in saying and what Donald trump is saying…if you really listen…what they are saying is NOT that different and is aimed, by both at the same “crowd”…including, Jeb and his very well connected sponsors, backers and “advisors” in and out of his campaign…the same “crowd” tied to “41″ and later “43″…and his, JEB’s neo-con/CIA links are just as suspicious…as those of “41″ and “43….They, Sanders and Trump, are in their own way “weaving” and setting a tone of showing a reality and truth that has NOT been seen or heard in a US presidential election, in a VERY, VERY long time…and when such talk is “so-close to the edge of truth”and reality (!!!) that when the “thermometer” snaps or breaks and things get real “nasty” and “ugly”..and “random”…”unexpected” “events” start happening or take place…this is a reality of extremely hi-level politics, especially of that of a world power…now or 2000 years ago….so you are right, “Watch Out”…to both I suggest, no walks thru kitchen pantries, no standing in moving open cars and no biking/cycling outings !!! Most people have NO idea how much power. money and influence exist and “moves” between and within corporate/financial sectors and gov. sectors….

Imagine as if this is like a modern version of what “could have been, say in 1940, or 1948 or 1952 if Joe Kennedy Sr. ran for president…it is the SAME ‘almost” thing…Joe, sr, was going to run in 1940, after being promised by FDR that he, FDR, would NOT seek a 3rd consecutive term…and thus history went in another direction…like Papa Joe…in 2015 we have two…but in Mr. Trump specifically we have somebody also of enormous wealth,…enormous INDEPENDENT-self-made wealth….and that is real, REAL SERIOUS problem and perceived and believed one by many/various ,very powerful vested and entrenched interlocked, intertwined and interdependent interests….that believe that they have control ( & they do unfortunately to a large degree-& have shown it at times and to prior presidents !) of the levers that move this nation…
This is deep: When a person running for president, of enormous independent self-made wealth that even rivals and is greater, even then the combined wealth of the backers of his biggest and intentionally often mentioned opponent, neo-con backed Jeb Bush, in an interview, -TELLS– TIme Magazine , not just saying it -IN- Time Magazine, BUT –TELLING— TIME MAGAZINE, one of the bastions and outlets ( the others being the NYT, The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Forbes) for THE Establishment TITANS who run this country that he, Donald Trump, is not and will not become a puppet…..THAT IS SOME DEEP CRAP…that should be dated and noted by everybody…you can bet those words are still bouncing off walls within boardrooms, conference rooms. hi-level tiers of interlocked interests also within related gov. agencies and depts and sectors…he actually may be more tricky that I even thought…I just realized that by being so blunt with such words…he is in a “reverse” or “inverse” kind of way covering himself and at the same time saying here’comes somebody who will (or might be) BE president and won’t be anybody’s fool nor underestimate the power of “potential” enemies (like JFK did…) When you factor in the positive things that Roger Stone stills says about him, even though he and Mr. Trump “parted ways” (I suspect over campaign strategy not pol views/philosophy) and also Jesse Ventura… I mention this because you (NOT YOU–but all you out there) have to really take note of the recent published writings of what Stone and Ventura have written within the last few years (I’ve added their works to my library) …and judging by the nuance and tone of Trump going after JEB and singling him out, aka the top/designated “lead dog” is right out of “The Art of War”…non-stop attack, “get in his face” & head…make him think about you !!! Belittle him…build yourself up and “play-with” and tweak Jeb in a timely calculated way…just like announcing to run for President the day after JEB and over-shadowing him ever since…kind of like shadowing him and yet also by design and default build your self-up at the same time…this is straight out of “The Art of War”… (or parts of it !) Just like Mohammed Ali or Joe Namath…attack from a belief and position of supreme confidence, mess with the the “mind” of your opponent…”push his buttons” and keep on going non-stop…while still staying focused on the long-term goal…keep in mind (you already know this!) that many, many people who sit on the boards of e.g. Insurance Companies also sit on the boards of Aerospace, Banking, Financial Houses, Oil, Steel, Pharmaceutical companies, etc.,…like one big floating crap game…and lets not forget “pipelines” and links to and from defense, national security and intelligence agencies…THIS IS SOME DEEP XXXX HERE, and he is already sending a loud, unmistakable message….it may seem like “bluster” to CNN or MSNBC but from what I see it is all calculated like a smart aspiring championship pro-level boxer…or quarterback singling out the opponent or team he knows he needs to beat and ultimately overcome…..this really not an endorsement, as more of an observation of the continuing interplay and unfolding dynamic is it is playing out…like a multi-sided game of Chess or Risk…
I understand what your saying. Trump certainly is something to observe. He has brought hours of entertainment to my home since his entry into the race. It’s a new laugh every day…..and I fear that is the point. For while he has been weeding out the weaklings….Ted Cruz has begun climbing in the polls. Because after all…behind Trumps brash and outlandish behavior…Cruz looks a little less “let’s shut down the country and read Dr. Suess,”…..doesn’t he?
My guts tell me that Cruz is a hard core, histrionic, narcissistic and anti-social brat. In other words…..a sociopath. I do not want him to be in charge of dog catching…..any power would be wielded unwisely by Cruz.
I would love to see a Super-hero President swoop down and save our country with some bad hair and spittle….but I fear braggadocio will only go so far.
I understand that Trump has not sworn to NOT oppose a fellow republican should he NOT receive the nomination, leaving open the possibility that he may run on an independent ticket. This very question say “EVERYTHING” about the republican party as far as I am concerned. I would never put a ‘club/party’ before the prudent decision…..and this seems to be what they demand as their first rule…..Party First, right?
Anyway, if I felt Trump could actually accomplish the “Grand Bargain of Trumpishness” that he is promising then I might view him as a little more than a bigot braggot……but he has a way to go before I can adjust my piddly opinion.
This is my prediction our possibilities.
Ted Cruz will be the republican nominee (God Help Us!)
Biden will be the Democratic nominee
and a minor player (not Trump) will run third party.
Why, do you ask? Because at the last minute Trump will feign a slight of massive proportions….casuing him to back out and ‘Deny” the U.S. of all his supernatural advice.

Yes you are right about Cruz…I agree…but perhaps I’ve “modified” my feelings slightly about him, after listening to him…BUT overall you are correct…what he did a few years ago was NOT necessary (shutting down the gov)….I am not so much a supporter of Trump but a fascinated observer watching the interplay and dynamic of him vs. the JEB/neo-con crowd aka The Jebsters…I really watch and listen to the news (you KNOW this !!!) and follow and know history (you know
this !) but what I am most fascinated and curious about is the odd, almost dichotomy-like behavior and anomaly between how people react to things and how they are told how to react to certain things as if in a dictatorship or “hidden” or subtle influence of projecting a perception. Perfect example…when, before he was an announced candidate for President, when Donald Trump always walked onto a talk show as an invited guest…there was presence…you saw it, you felt it, you sensed it…from the host (whoever they were) , and from the audience…a very uncommon presence….now when he announced he was a candidate for President for the Republican nomination, the very next day after JEB Bush, it was as if ( & I’m NOT reading into this !) buttons were pushed, and a “non- memo” was passed around on the various (bit not all) US news outlets…it is very strange for man to be regarded with respect and highly/HUGELY successful and recognized as such, almost as if a “switch” was activated to go “negative”: Right after he announced, on MSNBC and even more so on CNN, round table discussions strangely NEVER, ever discussed his background, business and financial skills, large bus. “empire” knowledge and familiarity of various world and bus. leaders,etc. what he could or would bring “to the table in and during a US presidential election. YES that was never mentioned or brought up. I watched it while it was happening ..or not happening (!!!) and no footage of his NY bus and/or his father, a well known NYC developer…no graphics, no footage but only some really bizarre immediate…almost spontaneous vitriolic ( yes I watched with enlightened fascination) comments about somebody who is “in their back yard” (“their boy”, so to speak) of NYC…this seemed very odd to me…the clincher was watching and hearing Gloria Berger (CNN) among others (on CNN, MSNBC, CNBC) really within minutes of his announcement call him a clown, a buffoon and goof…and even (and this is just right after, within minutes after his announcement) either she or one of her colleagues (Wolf Blitzer?) held up a newspaper of a NY tabloid newspaper of “the Donald” in a circus clown outfit on the cover…regarding a guy ( who initially with his father) rebuilt major parts of NY and NYC and in the process amassed 13+ BILLION Dollar fortune…rivaling even the Rockefellers…now it is difficult for me to believe that a man can be so astute, dedicated and focused as to amass that kind of fortune and perceived as such would “within the blink of an eye” ( or was it an “announcement”?) now be considered a clown or a buffoon…It is odd especially when he has appeared with numerous other world leaders and other bus. leaders ar various expositions forums and symposiums in other nations e.g. Russia, India or Brazil, etc. It was/is as if “something” was “put into play”…

VP Joe Biden had lunch with the President today…he is getting close to making that decision…I still think he has A LOT of work to do due to waiting so long…now concrete follow-up and return calls will take place….these are the ones that will really count and consist of blunt and candid conversations…I am leaning to him NOT running…the longer he waits to announce the more difficult it will be for him…if he announces it will be by the 3rd week of September….I don’t know how it works if he announces sooner ( or latter) to get a seat at the First Democratic Debate in October….I assume by then he will have filed all the nec paperwork…

I too watch not only for the history and informational wealth, but for the entertainment value. And yes, if a billionaire you do business with tells you that he needs your support…..tv air time….venue…..printing or speech writing services……you help. It’s just good business. And we all know money may not make the world go round, but it definitely greases the wheel.

That is the exact truth. Not one of those politicians have clean hands or tender hearts for the people of the country. So….whomever Trump is (maybe all) hell-bent on keeping out of office….I suspect will be a good thing. But I do have grave concerns about whether he cares about anyone or thing but himself ….just like the rest.

And your right about their love of war. Haliburton is one of the largest contractors for the work available to U.S. citizens,….and we all know who owns and profits most from that company. Their business is based on the hope of war and conflicts.
But the fact is…no one would want the position of President based solely on the money. The hidden power behind that office is tremendous. That reason alone is enough to make me suspect ‘anyone’ who wanted the position.
Admittedly I have high standards for such an office. But then…..I think we should expect the highest standards of the person seeking the position. Oh ! about that weirdo…yes, that’s him…I ‘d like to know about HER background !!!! l have to some digging about her…You have to watch ( whenever you can) those shows I mentioned…also..”Going Underground” and a few others (on RT) …On F-24, keep an eye out for The Debate and also The interview…most of the time all these show have really relevant data you WON’T see or hear ( at all) on US news outlets…also the The Asian/Japanese News Channel and The BBC can give out data not always heard on US news outlets…The top of the hour news on these channels is interesting also in terms of news/story priority and what “else” is going on, again that we don’t always hear on US news sources ..and also “in the reverse” what is going on or emphasized or being told in the USA…to me the best source is having the MOST sources and using your brain, logic and common sense…something CNN and sometimes MSNBC thinks we don’t have…FOX, aside from some the of the politics or slant actually does a better job sometimes, if not just because of a variation of perspective…sometimes I just “think “past” alongside”, next to” or “above” HOW it is being said and/or why…that helps a lot…kind of like Rubic’s cube of the mind when wondering, seeing and hearing what we are being told…that make sense? I’ve come across dozens and dozens times where.e.g. something on CNN was said in such a way that was beyond casual oversight or just a casual omission on any number of topics…have great day !
