New Scientific Theory Proves Human's Have Souls
A near-death experience happens when quantum substances which form the soul leave the nervous system and enter the universe at large, according to a remarkable theory proposed by two eminent scientists.
According to this idea, consciousness is a program for a quantum computer in the brain which can persist in the universe even after death, explaining the perceptions of those who have near-death experiences.
Dr Stuart Hameroff, Professor Emeritus at the Departments of Anesthesiology and Psychology and the Director of the Centre of Consciousness Studies at the University of Arizona, has advanced the quasi-religious theory.
It is based on a quantum theory of consciousness he and British physicist Sir Roger Penrose have developed which holds that the essence of our soul is contained inside structures called microtubules within brain cells.
They have argued that our experience of consciousness is the result of quantum gravity effects in these microtubules, a theory which they dubbed orchestrated objective reduction (Orch-OR).
Thus it is held that our souls are more than the interaction of neurons in the brain. They are in fact constructed from the very fabric of the universe – and may have existed since the beginning of time.

You are a soul; You have a body.
Note:
Please forgive my use of the word you and realize I do not wish to make demands, commands, nor orders in literal fashion. The choice to look is up to you.

Cool
But a ‘theory’ cannot prove anything until the theory its self is proven to be true.
The title is highly contradictory.
Should say.. New Scientific Theory Suggests… not New Scientific Theory Proves.
we also lose 2 ounces of weight at the exact time of death
At the time of actual death, the human body instantly becomes 21 grams lighter, apparently due to the fact that the soul has left the body.
Even the ancients believed that human beings have souls. Science has no idea what the soul is made of. The above article — albeit interesting — is highly theoretical, hence unconvincing.
Regarding the nature of the human soul, the best data available come from Jesus Christ — the only one who ever conquered death.
I really cant say your right with Jesus Christ. He has not even been proven, yet no evidence of the omni potent god exist the bible.
I am sure we have a soul, or an energy would be a better word for it. but to understand it I believe you would have to understand the way of the ancient people, the Mesopotamians or the Mayans. In the modern world we would have to look to the shaolin monk, or anyone else who have a knowledge of how to use this energy we have within us.
The way of the Christians and Muslims does not give any knowledge on this energy, all they focus on is how to keep people locked in a cult
OK well that’s not how science works. Science takes something actual and forms a theory as to its cause.
It does not cherry pick scientific hypothesis (unsubstantiated ideas) to fit unsubstantiated religious claims.
The title is an oxymoron.
Did you see the movie Contact?
It is pretty good.
If it’s a “theory” then it isn’t proof. A theory is just that…a theory…An assumption based on limited information or knowledge; a conjecture.
Amazing how people ALWAYS refer to the soul of a person as having “religious” meaning when nothing of the sort is true.
Sten, you are entitled to your opinion, even if it’s riddled with holes like Swiss cheese.
I’m left wondering why “theory” and “proof” are being used in the same sentence.
Besides, wondering still, why one would strive to prove that which is outside the human range to understand.
WAIT, I know. There was a grant to study such a thing.
A scientific theory does not prove anything. Only a scientific fact does that. I find the information intriguing, thanks for posting it.
I actually find the title true for this reason. Everything is theory. We can find evidence to prove, only to find exceptions to the proof. Neuroscience is a good example of theories taken as fact. We still have not discovered every chemical the human brain produces.
How can we know everything there is about death, when we still do not know everything about life. The fact that some get hung up on a title to a article, holds them back from examining the possibilities. Thanks for sharing the article.
