It doesn’t mean your consciousness will be “uploaded” too… so everything you know will be uploaded, but you will still be your own being. This robot thing would emulate you, but you would have no control over it and you would not be living the life of the robot – you’d still have your own life and your own consciousness.

This is already happening. I have been a part of this work. It is going on outside of world view and without community oversight. It feels very wrong to me. Google and Microsoft are heavily involved. They can’t move the sole and they won’t be able to. This is a big problem for them!
I would love it if congress and all of Washington uploaded their minds to computers and abandoned their bodies. Then we could reformat the hard drives and the world would be the better for it!
Umm…just a thought, folks. Before you get all excited about this, let me ask you one question: what makes a person “alive” and self-aware? You can copy my memory a million times into a machine if you like, but that does not make the machine “me”. Its just a copy. This isn’t immortality, its just a cheap talking Xerox that walks. Anybody stupid enough to fall for this probably deserves to die so their copy can “live,” though.
That Google ‘expert’ should first learn what defines a human being. Do we consist of just physical matter or do we also have subtle layers? Where does consciousness come from? From matter or from spirit? Perhaps the brain is only an interface to the real self? Why do we otherwise have past live memories and in-born talents?
I prefer a light body to a robot body. A robot cannot enjoy love and happiness. On thing is certain: by 2045 Google will be no more. VICTORY TO THE LIGHT!!!

I have no desire to live forever as a toaster! I had an out of body experience as a young man while tripping on windowpane. Tripping was basically my minor in college back then so I feel that when I say that I know the difference from being high and having a once in a lifetime experience that cannot be described in words, I know what I’m talking about. The body is a prison, life is a sentence. If you think you can continue to be a human if stuck as memory in a tin can or that this is in some way desirable, you are a fool.
