Enormous Mystery Creature Captured By Deep-Sea Camera
An oil rig spotted an enormous creature on its deep-sea camera somewhere in the ocean off Great Britain.
The operator was astonished to see the jelly-like creature roll its fleshy blob near the lens.

I have to argue with the plastic theory. This is a deep sea rig and if a large sheet of plastic ended up that far down, the pressure down there would squeeze it into a ball, not a billowy blob with its own locomotion.
actually, any air trapped in plastic would EXPAND the deeper it went.

It looks like a giant jellyfish feeding on the plankton attracted to the robot’s light. There is another clip out there of something like this in the Gulf of Mexico. I’m not finding it now, but that creature was dark in color with a strange, hexagon pattern in its skin.
I saw the clip of the one in the Gulf. Very similar creature.

its actually called “deepstaria enigmatica” and its a kind of jellyfish that usually lives in arctic seas, but as also been seen in deep water, 800-2000mtrs, off the coast of the u.k.
