(Before It's News)

In Russia, in the Caucasus mountains, not far from the cities Tzelentzchik, Touapse, Novorossiysk and Sochi, there are hundreds of megalithic monuments. The Russians call them dolmens. Russian and foreign archaeologists have not yet discovered their use. All these megalithic dolmens you see below in the pictures are dated from 10,000 years to 25,000 years ago, according to the website Kykeon.   Other archaeologists put the age of these megalithic structures at 4000 to 6,000 years old.

Thousands of prehistoric megalithic monuments are known throughout the world. Some of the least known outside the former Soviet Union, however, are those in the Caucasus. These dolmens cover the Western Caucasus on both sides of the mountain ridge, in an area of approximately 12.000 square kilometers of Russia and Abkhazia.

The Caucasian dolmens represent a unique type of prehistoric architecture, built with precisely dressed cyclopic stone blocks. The stones were, for example, shaped into 90-degree angles, to be used as corners or were curved to make a perfect circle. The monuments date between the end of the 4th millennium and the beginning of the 2nd millennium B.C.

While generally unknown in the rest of Europe, these Russian megaliths are equal to the great megaliths of Europe in terms of age and quality of architecture, but are still of an unknown origin.

In spite of the variety of Caucasian monuments, they show strong similarities with megaliths from different parts of Europe and Asia, like the Iberian Peninsula, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Israel and India. A range of hypotheses has been put forward to explain these similarities and the building of megaliths on the whole, but still it remains unclear.

Approximately 3,000 of these megalithic monuments are known in the Western Caucasus, but more are constantly being found, while more and more are also being destroyed. Today, many are in great disrepair and will be completely lost if they are not protected from vandals and general neglect.

The dolmens are found in the area of Krasnodar.  Krasnodar  is a city and the administrative center of Krasnodar Krai, Russia, located on the Kuban River about 148 kilometers (92 mi) northeast of the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk.

Concentrations of megaliths, dolmens and stone labyrinths have been found (but little studied) throughout the Caucasus Mountains, including the Abkhazia. Most of them are represented by rectangular structures made of stone slabs or cut in rocks with holes in their facade. These dolmens cover the Western Caucasus on both sides of the mountain ridge, in an area of approximately 12.000 square kilometres of Russia and Abkhazia.

The map above shows locations of known Dolmen structures. The original source for the following images came via a Russian Website

The dolmens have a limited variety in their architecture. The floor plans are square, trapezoidal, rectangular and round. All of the dolmens are punctuated with a portal in the center of the facade. While round portholes are the most common, square ones are also found. In front of the facade is a court that usually splays out, creating an area where rituals possibly took place. The court is usually outlined by large stone walls, sometimes over a meter high, which enclose the court. It is in this area that Bronze and Iron Age pottery has been found – which helped date these tombs -, along with human remains, bronze tools and silver, gold and semi-precious stone ornaments.

The repertoire of decoration for these tombs is not great. Vertical and horizontal zigzags, hanging triangles and concentric circles are the most common motifs. One decorative motif that is quite common is found across the top of the porthole slab. It can best be described as a lintel held up by two columns. Pairs of breasts, done in relief, have also been found on a few tombs. These breasts usually appear above the two columns of the porthole decoration. Perhaps related to these are the stone plugs, which were used to block the porthole, and are found with almost every tomb. They are sometimes phallic-shaped.

Some unusual items associated with dolmens are big round stone balls, double balls and animal sculptures.

One of the most interesting megalithic complexes – group of three dolmens – stands in a row on a hill above Zhane River on the Black Sea coast in the Krasnodar area near Gelendzhik, Russia. In this area there is a great concentration of all types of megalithic sites including settlements and dolmen cemeteries. Large stone mounds surrounded the two monuments.

The central dolmen is rectangular in plan, 4 x 4 meters, while the two flanking dolmens are circular, 4 and 5 meters in diameter. The two round dolmens had been bulldozed – probably in the 1950s – in order to harvest the surrounding trees, but the main structure of the central dolmen had not been damaged.

Another (fourth) dolmen near the Zhane River has a secret entrance at the back of the chamber, and a façade, dummy entrance and courtyard at the front of the dolmen. There in addition to these pristine dolmens were some ruined dolmens.

Very cool thread, Alton! Something interesting that’s ‘physically substantial’ at last. Although I can’t find any links at the moment, there are apparently scores of similar structures scattered throughout China and Mongolia too.

  • Болеслава

Note the perfect round smoothness of those holes which could only have been made using precision power tools.

    • W. Willow

That was my thought when I saw how precise they were. If they weren’t tombs, I’d think they were a cross between the Flintstones and Hobbits’ habitats.

    • Geeper

You can’t judge that something is perfectly round from a little photo! If someone does the measurements, then sure, but it’s silly to make that call from a few pictures. Carving something into a rough circle is not beyond the wit of a primitive society.

Great collection of photos, all the same.

These are quite easily understood, when viewed in the light of the T-Rex hind limb discovered by Dr. Mary Schweitzer of UNC which, when broken open contained “elastic collagen and hemoglobin elements.” (That’s tissue and blood for you neophytes.) That bone, and 37 other non fossilized dinosaur bones from around the globe, but mostly in Russia, (because they are not quite as anal as we are about paleontological sacred cows like 65MM year old dinosaurs) demonstrate C-14 dates from 15K to 42K YBP. There are many other pieces of evidence such as ceramic models, rock art and stone carvings that suggest recent humans observed (lived or co-existed with some mid sized dinosaurs) probably as late as 4K to 5K years ago. If that is true, and the evidence seems to suggest it is, then IF any of those mid sized dinosaurs were velociraptors, (very large non flying birds) then having a stone chamber to sleep in at night would probably be a very prudent building method, particularly one where an adult could crawl through the ONLY opening, and a medium sized velociraptor could not follow them in.

The one photo that shows the person near the hole suggests an average size person could easily get through the hole. If giants existed at the time, as is universally contained in world culture folklore, (as is the great flood), they would have been able to deal with the midsized velociraptors more easily than modern humans and may not have needed this kind of protection.

Also this building method is good for a retreat during the day if giant flyers showed up to cull the human herd, as well. IF the velociraptors survived is some areas, there is absolutely no reason to not think some form of large flyers existed late into the Holocene as well.

Makes a lot of sense to me, and seems more logical, at least to me, than anything else I’ve heard or seen.

    • xenoverse

ya the Inca stones actually depict a tribal looking human guy riding on the back of one of those dinosaurs and holding a spear – what do you call it, Triceratops or something like that.

So now it is 100% confirmed and we can put the rumors to rest, Barney rubble, fred flinstone, wilma, bam bam and dina and the rest of the crew we actual characters and we have found there homes!. SPLENDID!!!

It is misguiding Russian propaganda, meant to sunk in all those Russian names
Of administrative parts of Russia and Russian institutions, that uneducated world
Would be ignorant that Russian expansion and repopulation of pre-Georgian lands,
12 Millenniums of Iberian-Caucasian for-fathers of World Civilization Russia steals.
Look maps of history since 10 B.C. agriculture and iron metallurgy in pre-Georgia…

  • Bronson

Ah yes, another fine example of the type of home construction available at the time of the Dinosaurs. These types of dwellings worked fine for keeping T_Rex from eating you alive.

Now people live in what is called houses. Wasted materials on a piss poor design. Basically called keeping up with the Jones’es. Yes always have to have the 3 car garage, cement pond, with the giant multi structured fabrication of a useless building design called a house. About the only thing incorporated into some homes that did make some sense was the basement.
Yes the basement reverts back to the Cave dwellers, adding a well needed protection from destructive forces, natural, and man made. Even now people still have the root cellars, and seen mostly in the Old Country areas.
Like the time, when I was driving through the Old Country, trying to make my way to the Frankfurt airport during a severe snow storm, and good thing I was in a European built vehicle. The storm was very sever, 10 foot high snow banks on each side of the road. Snow flakes bigger than in hand coming down so thick it was blinding with the headlights reflecting back into your eyes. Wind howling, as I passes a huge road, snow blowing machine that was clearing the road. Just a little was after passing this vehicle, I turned a sharp corner. Then out of now where a sharp bright Blue UV light with a crackling noise, lit up the road in all directions.
As I passed through this light, my car acted as if it was stalling, I pressed in on the clutch rev the engine, coasted for a bit.
Ah, to my relief the engine smoothed out, and regained power. I noticed the clock was running backwards, wow that was strange. I just figured it was some sort of electrical problem. As I drove I noticed the roads ahead was clear, and the as if there was not even a storm. I was glad, because it was stressful driving in a heavy storm, with all the adrenalin pumping so hard I noticed my nose was bleeding very heavily, I began to calm down, and felt more at ease. Stopped the blood from flowing. Then out of no place noticed a dim light ahead on the right side of the road.
As I drove closer I noticed it was some type of guest house, Now not knowing what time it was, and being pitch black dark out. I did notice some horses, and a couple of old type covered wagons out front.
I thought this was very strange, because I knew my route very well, and figured wow I must be lost, and prob took a wrong turn in the blizzard. I for sure did not recognize this place, and nothing seemed right about it, no cars, just horses, and wagons. By this time, I needed a stiff shot of whiskey, expresso, and something to eat. So I parked the car. Walked to the front door, I thought very strange, when I was hearing loud howling in the distance. The front door to what I thought was a Guesthaus was huge with strange markings, and braided garlic was everyplace.
I walked in, it was erie, Not crowded, the place was dimly lit, with a huge stone fireplace blazing, with a huge metal soup pot hanging in the fireplace, with steam boiling from it.
I sat down, a Fräulein came to my table, no whisky was available, so I ordered a beer, expresso, and the only thing on the menu to eat was bllod soup cooking in the huge fireplace, not to be dis-respectful I had a bowl of this soup. When she brought it to my table, with a couple of Brotchens, I ate, and drink, and felt energized like magic.
I finished up, went back to my car, as soon as I pulled back on the road, the strange UV light happened again, as I passed through it, I noticed my Clock was working correctly now, and as soon as my engine regained power, I was back into the blizzard, and again behind the same huge snow blowing machine, that I had past before the 1st UV light that crackled. Yes it was very strange indeed, and I will always remember this.
There are many gateways in the old country, it is even strange driving through a lot of areas, Russia, and Germany…..Yes, you can feel the timezones, it is so different.
Some say there are time portals in a lot of these areas.

    • Bronson

Oh, and to add to this time warp facto story….There was no charge for the any of the food, and drink. the people inside, seemed to phase in, and out. I just thought it was the strange lighting in the place. Like you can see them setting at the stone tables, turn, then look again, they would not be there, or someone totally different would be in their place. Yes the tables, and bench type seats was all stone carved. The bowls/spoons was made of stone. They stirred the soup using large bones like from a steer.
Believe what you will, but you will never know of the adventures of this world, and time unless you go on an adventure for yourself. There are many strange Adventures/Anomalies, some will never be explained. Just like these stone dwellings, there is more to this than meets the eye. Sure main stream science is mostly just mostly uses the stupid alternative simpleton methods to fool the sheeple.
You know just because people went to college as a profession, does not mean they are intelligent. Some are highly intelligent but are very good at not telling the truth.
Look at all the Science that went into building Fukushima, but they failed to listen to the warnings from their ancestors, stone tablets along the coast line, Warning do not build here. Plus their archived writings warning them. Ehhhhh? so how smart are these people in charge of your life?
Really, you can tell people their is a huge storm brewing, but all they think about is their little portion of the world. Yes, they should now know what happens in another portion of this world will have a huge impact on their life. As far as this goes, what happens in space in time, the big cycles of life will also have an effect on them.
Yes there is a big storm brewing, it is written in the cycles of life. Ever ask yourself, wow where are the people that lived in these dwellings? Just like many other civilizations just vanished, yes it happens time, and time again. Ask anyone in the know about the bigger cycles. Cycles just like the seasons, night, and day, winter, summer, spring, fall……these are not the only cycles, we have bigger cycles with planets, within, the solar system.. ,, and with other system, stars, planets, and objects we know nothing about.
Science is way behind, and it is so silly that the sheeple have to be lied to because they cannot handle the truth…..if most are told the truth they would prob freak out, and cause harm to themselves, because they cannot comprehend much more than their own little space within the comfort of their living room socializing on FB, and Twitter.

      • NWO for Dummies.

Interesting story. simply time warps don’t explain all of it. and this is why. whist visiting a locally (at least)recognized time hole on several occasion i noticed that not only was the architecture changed but the basic landscape also from one time to the next. this cannot be explained as a simple time anomaly as the rock features do not change that much over time. how to explain it. I literally have no idea.

  • elucid7

those houses probably are made for about three people

    • Bronson

These stone houses, with the markings on the front door are just like the houses found on Mars, same type of entrances, and markings. Some say these markings identify the, the species, clan, hierarchy of the dwelling. In some of the photos you can distinguish some fractures from past impacts to the dwellings. This points out the importance of having such a thick, and heavy stone roof top. Indeed, some very hard impacts upon these dwellings caused those fractures.
Some say that most of these dwellings in past times was entrance ways to a subterranean cities, that are now covered up. Just like the entrances on Mars, and the Moon. Now the entrances are guarded by time warp doors. Nothing new, time is like a fabric that will bend to open portals.

      • Mellissa

I was thinking the thickness of the roof stones would be vital when the magnetosphere is weak and more matter makes it to the surface of the planet from our star. Also as others have said above, the dinos, if indeed were living at the same time, I do think so. Then the dwellings would need to be powerful. I would prefer a nice cave inside of a mountain. A girl cant have everything :D

  • Anonymous

Very interesting but the statement that they have to be “protected from neglect” is so dumb. Please tell me who has taken care of them for the last thousands of years, preventing neglect?

  • Mellissa

Those are incredible structures, I am impressed with their work and those circle holes are astonishing. How long would it take to try and chip away at stone to make those mostly perfect holes. The kind of stone would dictate the time it would take. With the time they have been around the softer stones are ruled out for the most part. The idea they may be 25,000 years old is amazing, even at the modern history cut off of 6000 years would be impressive. Main stream science is still holding on tot he 6000 years with both hands and it will take some serious work to get the group mind to change. It happens , we now believe the planet revolves around our star ( or spirals ) we also all accept the planet is round not flat, also that there is other stars with exo planets, 25 years ago that was laughed at by main stream science. In 1994 Dr. Alexander Wolszczan found what he called “unambiguous proof” of extrasolar planetary systems. Sure it was exo’s around a pulsar, but the ones around stars like ours were on the way for discovery.

I would love to see the structures in person. It would make an interesting project. To visit all the sites and see what can be discovered. ~Sigh~ To bad I’m in Canada and also disabled, making it very hard to do half the things I dream of or wish I could do.

Thanks for the article, a nice treat in the morning, better then speculated fear porn :D

    • Pix

Good point, science is sticking to their dates because science is objective, can only go on the evidence. All else is speculation.

    • NWO for Dummies.

what a moron. it is obvious those holes were drilled by advanced technology. the question nobody is asking as you don’t have a brain any of you is why this advanced technology is combined with such primitive architecture.

  • Pix

4.000 to 6,000 years old is the more likely. You can’t date rock, only carbon (organic matter) in the sediment layer the rock is sitting on.

Their use remains a deep mystery, but I suspect they were for storage. They look very similar in function to small huts on the island of St. Kilda, Scotland.

The oldest neolithic structures found to date are at Gobekli Tepe in Turkey, about 12000 BC. Thanks for bringing some common sense into the debate pix, but hey your a professor of anthropology and I’m a professional archaeologist; so in everyones eyes we’re the enemy! I fully expect us both to be heavily marked down for our comments. But such is life!

I am laughing at the irony, even though it is not that funny…but it appears that we did once live like the Flintstones. I have always said anything we can imagine (books, stories, movies, blah blah) we have either been through or will go through. Lately, lots of experiences have been telling me this assumption is correct.

  • Saber

Great article. I have never heard of these. I don’t know how they can date anything though. You can’t carbon date a rock.

  • Theodorizer

I think it is more common than we might want to acknowledge in some cultures, and even not forgetting one’s own, for the sacred ceremonies to turn sort of self-lashing as the graceful morphing in the grind of time leaves its marks in the traditions. The religious habits are inherited by succeeding generations, and the purpose of their original incubators is easily forgotten, or then remembered too well.

Almost whatever the cultural setting, there are plenty of anecdotes about an exemplary community that with strictly authoritarian ordinance tends to beget an additional formally well-abiding offspring culture as a side culture to the official line representing the status of the community’s cultural inheritance.

Such side culture is usually barely visible and practically invisible to the outsiders of the community. It may even be entirely fused with the parent culture. Its purpose is to handle the difficult aspects that plague the culture’s untarnished image, and it takes form in ill-willed or self-humiliating (at community level, not personal level) reverence to the sancitified values of the past.

Such side cultures can be claimed to exist for example in South American countries where they even today worship the saints introduced by the Spanish conquistadors. Also elsewhere in the world the Christian and Jewish cultures have not so astonishingly much such influence today, and what about the past centuries. I wouldn’t even want to guess how it is about the Asian religions and traditions.

And what about the family life in present day and in the past. And I think that the Caucasian monuments are an uncanny testimony in itself that the lives of those people weren’t so simply happy as we would like to hope.

About the true meaning of dolmens you can read at Anastasia’s books by Vladimir Megre – dolmens preserved the spirit of AYRIANS, who decided to die there in order to preserve their wisdom from 25,000 -10,000 years ago. Their spirit are still there and can answer your questions about spiritual development if you come and meditate next to dolmens

All lost information on these Russian Dolmens can be found in “The Ringing Cedars Series”
by Vladimir Megre, The Ringing Cedars Press. Chapter 33 Book 2, Your sacred sites, O Russia. p226.

“Do verify, by all means. The local inhabitants know about them, but they do not pay any attention to them. Many Dolmens have already been plundered.
People do not understand their true purpose.
They do not know about the possibilities they afford for contact with the wisdom of the universe.
Those who have entered into eternal meditation can never be re-embodied in anything material.
They have sacrificed eternity for the sake of their decendents, and now it turns out their knowledge and opportunities have gone begging.
This has caused them great sorrow and anguish.”

So humans hear the call of the Russian Dolmens and visit them, with the heart of a kin.

“dolmens” litterally means “doll-man”houses, houses for little men; probably a noun given by a mason who has some kind of humor…the entrances are small, no much light enters, solid rock , very heavy, sliced with advanced tools and carried with levitation technique, welcome to Gog’s houses people, an outer space robot_like, soulless spiecy that made our anciant relatives mad because they were very mean; they eat humans, spoil genetics …

  • eXChroma

Looks like the perfect animal trap…be nearby, they enter, you follow. Time to eat :)

cool i like it . like to have one of those in my back yard .
