The Cruel Hands Of Time - Inside The Creepy World Of Abandoned Insane Asylums (Photos And Videos)

(N.Morgan) Behind these walls, some of the worst medical horrors in history took place. I know, this isn’t a very pleasant subject, but I really wanted to share these photos and history with you.

When viewing these photos, you can almost feel the despair and solitude the patients in these asylums must have felt. The terror, at the things being done to them, all in some warped sense of “helping” them. mental illness was treated rather like the plague, in early history.

The mentally ill were all considered deranged and lunatics, a danger to themselves and every one around them. So, these poor souls were put into sinister exile. Put away from society and abused and forgotten. Their stories need to be told.

I have no names of the souls lost in these torture chambers. Sharing these photos of their prisons and exposing the horrors within, may bring them some peace and help reminds us to never allow this to happen again.

A little histroy about the founder of this particular metal facility. His name was Dr. Henry Cotton and was he was said to have a very “progressive attitude in treating his patients.

As Lauren Davis wrote previously on io9:

After it was confirmed in 1913 that the spirochaete that causes syphilis can cause the disease’s psychiatric symptoms, Cotton began to suspect that all mental illness was caused by bodily infections, and that the only way to cure the patient was to remove the offending infection. In 1917, he began removing his patients’ teeth, even in cases where X-Rays showed no evidence of infection. He soon moved on to other body parts: gall bladder, stomachs, ovaries, testicles, tracts of colon, uteruses. Cotton claimed a cure rate of 85%, but in reality, his surgeries had an unconscionably high mortality rate.

Jesus created a set number of angels. One third of them rebelled. Jesus turned the rebels into demons. Demons were nice-looking as angels, but now are ugly-looking as demons. So, they have to disguise themselves. Antichrist is surrounded by demons, but people see angels of light. Demons fly in UFOs. Demons pretend to be the dead aka ghosts. Demons pretend to be elves, fairies, etc. Demons never do good. Pagan deities are demons. All demons are male. Apemen and elephantmen are cursed masons from the Tower of Babel (Book of Jasher, Chapter 9, Verse 35). All these masons were also male. So, there are no goddesses. http://www.sacred-texts.com/chr/apo/jasher/9.htm

That place in Topeka, Kansas looks like an attractive old building with a nice archetectural design. Why don’t they restore it and turn it into something that the city can use, like an art gallery or something?
