Flat Earth: Science vs The Bible

Science tells us that the origin of the universe was the Big Bang.  The Bible tells us that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.   So who is right, science or the Bible.  Or can they both be right?  Only by comparing both versions can we see if there is any clear indication of who is right and who is wrong.  Here are some of the biggest differences.  

Science tells us that we live on a globe earth suspended in space and held in it’s orbit by gravity.  The earth spins at 1,000 mph and it travels around the sun at 67,000 mph and tilts on it’s axis at 23.4 degrees to produce seasons.  

The Bible tells us that the earth is stationary, fixed on it’s foundations and that it does not spin, nor does it move around the sun.   The sun moves around the earth.  The earth is not a globe, but was “spread out upon the water” which means that it is a flat plane.  The sun travels in a circle over the flat earth and produces seasons by traveling closer and further from the center.  

Science tells us that space is trillions of light years in size and that stars and some planets are several light years away as well.   There are black holes, dark matter, and gravity in space.  The Bible tells us that God only made the sun, moon, and stars.  No planets or black holes and no gravity.  The Bible also tells us that there is a dome over the earth like an inverted fish bowl.  Science tells us that we are one of several planets traveling in our orbit around the sun.  

It is absolutely amazing that these two descriptions of our earth and universe could be so totally opposite. There are no similarities at all.  Nowhere that we can integrate the two versions.  How could this happen and who are we going to believe.   On the one hand, God simply makes a statement and describes how he did it.  God doesn’t try to prove what he says, he just tells us what he made and we can either believe or disbelieve it.  Science tells us their version, and they cannot prove their theories either, because science doesn’t prove anything, (and scientists admit this) it’s a work in progress, so they keep forming new theories to replace other theories as they learn new things.  

So where does this leave us. Obviously we have to do our own research, gather the information, and make our own decision as to who we think is right:  God or Science.  Because they are so opposite they can’t both be right.   Either the sun travels around the earth, or else the earth travels around the sun.  And each of us have to decide who we want to believe.  It cannot be proven either way, and whatever conclusion we come to, we will have to believe it by faith.  So that leaves us only this choice to make;  we can either believe the Bible, or Science, but we can’t believe both.
