Simple Math Proves if the Earth is Spinning or Not

A simple math/scientific experiment proves whether the earth is spinning at 1000 mph on it’s axis.  True science is the art of acquiring knowledge through experimentation and observation without any pre-conceived beliefs.  So, let’s do the experiment to see if the earth is actually spinning like science tells us it is or if it’s not. 

A bullet from a .22 calibre rifle travels at about 1200 feet per second.  So let’s set up a target which is 1200 feet away and fire at the target.  From the manufacturer’s ballistic test data, the bullet should take one second to reach the target.  If we do that, providing our aim is right, we should hit the target every time.  And regardless of which direction we do this experiment, we should hit the target every time and it should take one second for the bullet to reach the target.   

However, if we bring science into the picture, everything changes.  And this is because the earth is supposedly spinning at 1000 mph which equates to about 1500 feet per second from west to east. Therefore, if we set up our target in a north/south position 1200 feet away and fire at the target, the bullet should take one second to reach the target.  However, science tells us that during this one second, the earth has moved from west to east a distance of 1500 feet.   If this is true, it means that it would be impossible to hit our target because the target would move 1500 feet before the bullet got there.  

I am using simple math and scientific data in this experiment.  And the results of the experiment would show me that the earth does Not move 1500 feet per second west to east.  So if the earth is Not spinning as our experiment shows, does that mean that it is stationary?  That would change everything wouldn’t it.  

Let’s do another experiment.  Let’s play catch with a baseball.  You stand about 100 feet away and I will throw you the ball.  Let’s stand in a north/south position.   As I throw you the ball, high in the air, it takes about 3 seconds to get to you before you catch it.  And we do this back and forth for a few minutes and it works just fine.  However, if we bring science into it, everything changes.  Because as I throw the ball, for the 3 seconds that the ball is in the air, according to science, you have moved 4500 feet or almost one mile sideways before you caught the ball.   But neither of us were aware of that.  So I asked a scientist and here’s what he told me.  

The reason you didn’t notice it is because the earth and everything on it, including the atmosphere and the clouds are all moving with the earth at the same speed as the earth.  So when you threw the ball, it was also moving at the same speed that you were, but you didn’t notice it for that reason.  There are formulas that we can use to determine this, but this is the simple answer. 

Well, I’m glad it’s all so simple because if that is true, then the force at which I threw the ball doesn’t seem to matter because the moment it leaves my hand, the air immediately pushes it sideways at 1000 mph to equal the speed at which you and I are also moving.  This is why it doesn’t matter how long the ball is in the air, or how hard I throw it.   And regarding the bullet, it does the same thing, the moment it leaves the barrel of the gun, immediately the air pushes it sideways at a speed equal to the speed that the target and I are moving and that’s why it hits the target.   It just seems like nothing happens for that one second, but a lot really does.   In other words, it doesn’t matter how fast that bullet is propelled forward, the moment it leaves the barrel of the gun it is pushed sideways 1500 feet during the one second it takes it to reach the target.   There we go…..problem solved.   I knew science would have the answer.    Want to know more about the earth and how the universe really works.  Click Here.
