EPA Planting A Tree Just Doesn’t Do It Any More

While back in my day in the 50’s and 60’s of schooling every spring we’d plant a tree that would be to help the environment. While during President Nixon’s term in the White House he put in a new law in July of 1970 that established the EPA and was passed in response to the growing public demand for cleaner water, air and land. Prior to the establishment of the EPA, the national government was not structured to make a coordinated attack on the pollutants which harm human health and degrade the environment. The EPA was assigned the task of repairing the damage already done to the natural environment and to establish new criteria to guide Americans in making a cleaner environment a reality.

Knowing that President Nixon was of the Republican Party he showed much caring of our planet and yes believed in global warming, Nixon also used the improving international environment to address the topic of nuclear peace. As part of the Nixon Doctrine that the US would avoid direct combat assistance to allies where possible, instead giving them assistance to defend themselves, the US greatly increased arms sales to the Middle East particularly Israel, Iran and Saudi Arabia—during the Nixon administration. The Nixon administration strongly supported Israel, an American ally in the Middle East but the support was not unconditional. Nixon believed that Israel should make peace with its Arab neighbors and that the United States should encourage it.

As most know President Nixon also ended the war with Viet Nam and withdrew our military soldiers from this part of the world bring all home after a horrific brutal war that our men, women suffered through. There were many Cynics could say that this was a political decision made by the people who had protested against this war from many years.

With so many corporations being deregulated allowing them to pollute our air, water land and yes even our oceans with chemicals being dumped illegally because of our politicians making laws that allow so many loopholes that lets this do happen. Never mind our food being sprayed with pesticides that are cancer causing not just to the people but our animals that now are even dyeing from this.

We heard during the Republican primary Rick Perry say that the EPA is one of the offices he would do away with in our government it’s an un-necessary department knowing how many people have died from the poisons in our food air quality and water.

Dozens of bills have been introduced to limit environmental protections that critics say will lead to job losses and economic harm. Some question what the vast majority of scientists accept — that the burning of fossil fuels is causing global warming. In fact the Republicans will sing a song claiming there is no such thing as global warming in fact now they don’t even believe the scientist facts that have proven man is destroying this planet given to us by God or a higher being. But you’ll also hear them claim how they pretend to believe in our bible pray books when in fact they aren’t speaking any words from a holy book at all.

Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney has called for the firing of EPA chief Lisa Jackson, while GOP rival Newt Gingrich has said the EPA should be replaced altogether. Jackson has faced questioning on Capitol Hill so often in the past two years that a top Republican quipped that she needs her own parking spot while knowing that the reason for all this rumpus over EPA deregulation are about big oil & keeping oil subsidies plus let all corporations avoid spending money to correct the poisonous omission that pollute our air, water the ocean our fish and children swim in is to keep their portfolio’s extremely large and let’s not forget how they avoid paying into our tax structure.

On 3 June 1979, the well suffered a blowout resulting in one of largest oil spills in history. Yes that’s right BP oil. The oil had a drastic impact on the littoral crab and on the mollusk fauna of the beaches which were contaminated. The populations of crabs, a.g. the ghost crab Ocypode quadrate, were almost totally eliminated over a wide area. The crab populations on coral islands along the coast were also reduced to only a few percent of normal about nine months after the spill.

One study found that the most persistent issues were pollution of estuaries and coastal lagoons lining the bay, and especially the effects on breeding and growth of several food fish species, while also destroying our beaches and much other wild life around for a very long time.

Then of course not having regulations or a preventive measure once again The Exxon Valdez oil spill occurred in Prince William Sound, Alaska, on March 24, 1989, when the Exxon Valdez, an oil tanker bound for Long Beach, California, struck Prince William Sound’s Bligh Reef and spilled 260,000 to 750,000 barrels 41,000 to 119,000 m3 of crude oil. It is considered to be one of the most devastating human-caused environmental disasters.

Now in 2010 here we go once more around because we haven’t learn from the past another big oil spill to destroy more of our environment our beaches wild life still now being cleaned up but yet no smarter from any of the last disasters, we still don’t have better equipment or knowledge of cleaning up this type of environmental disaster to our planet.

But we can’t just blame the Republican Party yes they are primarily the blame for they don’t want to sacrifice their portfolio’s or the lobbyist to save our environment, knowing that if we don’t do something soon this planet won’t be safe for any of us and all the money in the world won’t help keep them healthy not even in a bunker.

We need to invest in solar energy stop depending on oil, we’ve come so far in technology but yet we still won’t take a break of fresh air or try to preserve this planet for many generations to come. Our internet speed in one of the fastest our computers are as small as our key chains. There are satellite dishes everywhere but yet no one wants to take time to prevent this earth given by a higher being God from being destroyed by man and his self-greed of power to control everything except to stop pollution and yes nuclear wars.

school we did plant a tree to keep the envionment healthy its way to late there aren’t enough trees we could plant anymore that would keep this planet healthy, because of so much carborns in our air from cars, big corporations chemicals being dumped into our earth and oceans, we need to save the wild life our air we breath the fish our we eat stop killing off everything because of greed for money in this country. Again knowing this is an election year and that our Republicans are willing to destroy this planet for their own self-greed of power gain a donation into their campaign repeal every program that will save this planet knowing in the end they won’t live on either for all that money cant keep them healthy if this planet dies.
