Immigration The Road We Have Taken / The Choices We Have Made

On February 14^th Franklyn D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, authorizing the War Department to define military areas in the western states and to exclude from them anyone who might threaten the war effort. Key U.S. leaders claimed that all people of Japanese ancestry on the West Coast of the U.S. posed a risk to national security. This led to the internment of tens of thousands of Japanese-Americans in what Roosevelt called “concentration camps,” often located in Native American reservations.

Knowing very well that these people of Japanese descent weren’t truly a risk at all to our country they had immigrated here long before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. At this point of time many of our white Americans started to sabotage the Japanese finances overtaking all of their possession, almost as back during our war with Germany when Hitler was transporting the Jewish people into concentration camps collecting all of their wealthy possessions, knowing he’d be putting all to death.

Its known fact that while the Japanese immigrants that had been here before this war began now forced into these so called internment camp were not giving the proper food sources nor were they receiving proper nourishment. Undoubtedly many died at the hands of our military camps as this war was in full force against Japan.

After this war was finally over the Japanese immigrants that were here long before this war began were released back into our communities, without their possession they have prior to being unlawfully imprisoned.

This is was race prejudice wartime hysteria discrimination going against our what our constitution would stand for according to our immigration laws. We have many immigrants whom came from Europe on ship passing by our Statue of Liberty which stand quite tall in our New York Harbor.

These people were welcomed with open arms to proceed to Elis Island for their proper papers to stay in our Country we call the USA. Because of how we believe all no matter your color or race and or where you’ve come from the sea you might have to fight to cross we open our doors for all to immigrate into this land of opportunity.

But yet during war time with Japan we discriminated against our own laws violating congressional rules that was uncovered with much evidence in the 1940’s that there was no need for any military necessity or to use unequal unjust treatment to the Japanese Americans during WWII.

As we continue to discriminate in this country at one point the Bush Administration finally pushed congress to work (Republicans) towards the passage of Public Law 100-3383 in 1988 which acknowledged the injustice of the interment unfair treatment of the Japanese, where an apologized for it which provided a $20,000 cash payment to each person who was interned or still alive from this in humane treatment.

In many of our states such as Arizona, California, Mexico even Texas we know there are many of the Hispanic/Latino heritage, for some reason we’ve gone backward once again stripping them of immigration rights that we have in our laws.

Mostly of our Republican Party seems to believe when serving in a political office they would rather have them all deported not give the chance to become legal residence of the USA.

It’s sad they must sneak into or crawl under and or over to get over a boarder those we once would welcome all foreigners with open arms now are hiding with fear of being deported. When all they want is what we our country stands or stood for the chance to give all the opportunity of a great life on this land.

Some would have you believe they are stealing jobs from our American citizens when in fact this again is a falsehood. We as Americans even if poor are very spoiled we won’t do the work or hours they would do to feed their families, let me correct this statement there are some that yes I believe would work just as hard if given the chance as any other foreigner who would cross a boarder if we had the jobs here in our country to give to all people no matter if you’re a citizen or foreigner.

The fact truth is we don’t have jobs in this country our government states Governors are letting our public sector go claiming there isn’t enough money in the states cities budgets when they give many of their lobbyist large paybacks in special interest check form for their support in policy.

How could it be possible that our politicians in the Republican Party have forgotten what our Statue Of Liberty stand for, when or why did so many people become against immigration of others? I ask you if we invade other countries claiming its to give them Democracy freedom of choice helping them see equality of living with dignity having a humane way of living, what is the difference when people run from a country of poverty of terror risking their life for a chance of freedom dignity a place they’d heard is a better place of opportunity a safe haven from the horror they’ve just left, isn’t this the same without the gun fire or war of using military just letting them cross our boarder.

Our politicians should be ashamed of themselves how they have disgraced what this country stood for how they have forgotten the true meaning of giving caring lending a helping hand, they really need to read what is written on the pedestal of the Statue Of Liberty, refresh their hearts inner souls.

Now with the great news on Friday June 15^th,2012 President Obama using an executive order seems to be a huge step in the right direction for our immigrants here that have crossed boarder swam in oceans, just to come to this land we offer to all people no matter race, color, creed the opportunity of a better life with equality.

This also doesn’t mean they will automatically become USA citizens it will give them work permits to make a fair wage in a job with out having the fear of being deported.

These people will and must graduate from high school or earn a GED and or serve in our Military have no criminal records, being responsible in contributing in this country. The only problem I’d have with this is if a man/women would put their life on the line for this country serve in our American Military they should automatically become an American citizen in my opinion.

Of course we have Romney who would have laws put into place having all self deport them self hideous ridiculous in my opinion. In fact Romney would if became President veto the Dream Act, also in Arizona there laws are the most discriminated hardest on anyone person who has come across the boarder illegal and will not support and law that gives undocumented immigrants a path to legal status.

The age for this stay in our country not being deported would be from 30years downward, and have been brought to our country under the age of 16yrs by no fault of their own.

To me this is just a beginning of course there is much more work to be done in this executive order that President Obama has now put into law, he has now surly fired up the debate over our immigration what it was once for so many who crossed our seas and immigrated here so easily, with the help of our government.

Knowing there will be a up hill battle with all in congress over what the next step will be for going forward for all immigrants who yes do cross our boarder how do we help the people who have the right to what this country stands for give all the opportunity of a life of freedom equality with humanity a place where all can grow with dignity

For our Christian Right Wing Republicans please stop using your political rhetoric of austerity or the inhumane words deeds you do against the people of poor in my name of Jesus Christ for this goes against all of what God myself his stand for.

As on our Statue Of Liberty there are no words of DISCRIMATING against our IMMIGRANTS who travel from oceans a far or land to be take part in what this country was built on our immigrants
