Bomb Threats At Multiple Wal-Marts Across The Country

At least 5 Wal-Marts stores, 1 in California, 2 in Michigan, 1 in Minnesota and 1 in New York recieved bomb threats in the last 24 hours.

Michigan

A threat came in to employees at the Walmart store in Holland Township, 2629 N. Park Dr., just before 10 p.m. The employees contacted Ottawa County Central Dispatch at 9:56 p.m., a dispatch supervisor said.

Minutes before, at 9:47 p.m., employees at the Walmart Store in Grandville, 4542 Kenowa Ave. SW, called Kent County Central Dispatch reporting they had received a bomb threat.

Both stores were evacuated. There were no reports of injuries or any hazardous materials found.

Minnesota

A bomb threat called into the Grand Forks Walmart shortly after 6:30 p.m. Friday prompted an evacuation of the store.

Police searched the building and found no evidence of a bomb, according to Sgt. Barb McLeod. She declined to comment on where the caller, a male voice, said the bomb was located.

California

An anonymous bomb threat briefly shut down the Union Landing Walmart early Friday evening.

According to Sgt. Victor Derting of the Union City Police Department, the store received a generic bomb threat at about 5 p.m.

Multiple police and emergency units responded to the store.

Everyone inside the store was evacuated and a perimeter was set up around the parking lot.

Authorities conducted a search but no threat or danger was found

New York

New information as the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department continues to look into an incident at the Cortlandville Super Wal-Mart.

Deputies said there was a bomb threat just before 3 p.m. The store and the parking lot were evacuated.

K-9 teams from the Broome County Sheriff’s Office detected something, and investigators called in the Onondaga County Bomb Squad as a precaution.

Deputies said there is no threat to the public, but it is still an active scene.

To me this seems to be an organized campaign of bomb scares so I wonder if anyone will take responsibiliy for it. It will be inetersting to see. Wal-mart has many enemies so at this point it could be anyone and I don’t think any police forces have leads. -Mort
