See You Tomorrow

Later this year, I will have lived in Dallas for 10 years. It blows my mind and so much has happened within that time, be it good, bad, amazing or disappointing.  The other day I stopped by Smoothie King after working out. The cashier said, “See you tomorrow buddy”.  He says the same thing every time. Keep in mind; I rarely go to this particular Smoothie King. But I just play along and say, “Thanks, you too”.  But this took me back to a time nearly a decade ago, where any of the Wendy’s cashiers (I frequented a particular location near my school) said “see you tomorrow” too. The difference was they actually would.  I’m a recovering Wendy’s junkie and I was there literally 4 to 5 times a week, lol.  So what does this have to do with anything? No, this isn’t about me revealing my eating habits, but it is about the ways people can characterize us, based on our actions.

In life, we should consider what people are able to predict that we are going to do and where we are going to go.  When someone says “see you tomorrow”, does that mean that people always look to us to have an encouraging word or does it mean that they know we will always bring negativity with us?  Can we repeatedly be found at places that may misconstrue the perception of our being to others? Or are we that bright light that exudes through any haziness, no matter where we are? Let’s take it on a smaller scale with Tyler Perry.  I recently went to go see his new movie, Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor.  I had a conversation with someone else about the movie and we both came to the same conclusion. The movie had a great plot and some decent acting, but it was predictable in many ways.
