Did anyone actually watch the video or just see that they were caught on a hot mic? What they are saying is that we tried over and over again to compromise but they are unwilling to and they are only poll testing one side of the story and if they stick to their guns they can win this debate. This is the same thing they say on camera, just because it is off camera does not somehow make it evil.
I totally agree with you, this battle has the Senate, which by-the-way, lost several seats to Republicans in the last election, reeling from not having the House of Representatives in their court as a democratically controlled alley any longer. With a Republican controlled House, we the people have a voice and the Democrats do not like this one bit. In this hot mic capture, I see two senator strategists echoing the feeling they are getting from the leadership in the senate, they, the Democrats, are very frustrated as is the president that they cannot just do whatever they please any longer.
