The aircraft, a Boeing 777-200ER, last made contact with air traffic control less than an hour after takeoff. Operated byMalaysia Airlines (MAS), the aircraft carried 12 crew members and 227 passengers from 15 nations and regions, the majority of passengers being Chinese citizens.

Those folks were on their way to a “high level” meeting in China when they boarded the flight.
Well…………meetings have to be PLANNED in advance.

Perhaps if there were some “crack investigators” out there , maybe they could research that angle.
Find out WHEN those meetings were first scheduled and that would set a time-line for the planning.
