Actually this has been just another idiotic and short-sighted government policy of “kick-out as many combat vets as quickly as possible” from active-duty service. Last week the follow-up of “oh damn we need those combat vets” began in the form of “mandatory Reserve-unit affiliation” letters being sent out to critical MOS Army vets with IRR time still left.
