There is a lot of factual basis for the corruption of Freemasonry from its origins to a satanic cult in America in 1871 and people associating it with the Illuminati which had some Freemason members in Bavaria in that all power corrupts but the origins are different. It’s not the Illuminati you should worry about: it’s the Freemasons, the Jesuits, the Vatican and the banking system.
