David Vose isn’t saying anything new here. Here’s my take on divination. Divination has nothing to do with God or Satan. Instead, it’s a way for the user to gain access to their subconscious mind. I have personally used divination using a pendulum, resulting in sizeable financial gains. It has NEVER failed me. The admonition against using the services of a diviner only means that you have to do the divination yourself. You can’t have someone else do it for you. You can have other people help you though, as in using the pendulum while someone else mouses over a list, or a map, for example. The best time to do divination (when the signals come in strongest) is when the galactic centre is at 13:30 above you. Use any of the internet servers to find out which local time corresponds to 13:30 Local Sidereal Time, which shifts every day. Using LST also enhance any other divination system you may be using, like the Urim and Thumim, divining rods, etc.
Aleister Crowley said that the great work consists of the knowledge of, and coversation with your Holy Guardian Angel, which is part of your subconscious mind. He also said that each person has psychic abilities, however, some people are good at “downloading” information, like the diviners; while others are good at “uploading” it, like the magicians. Most people can’t do both. An easy way to test your psychic abilities is the use of 10 x 6-sided regular dice. The average roll would be 35, so if you consistently score above a 35, you’re better at magick than divination. If you consistently score around 35 or below, you’re better at divination.
And no, you don’t need to bust out your pendulum anytime you have to make a decision. Divination can also be done discreetly using what’s known as body dowsing. Place 2 things that are uncomfortable on either side of the body. I’ve used rings on both hands same finger. When you become conscious of one or the other, that’s your signal. Of course, just like the pendulum, this method requires calibration to find out which side corresponds to “yes” and which one to “no.”
All this stuff is old news to me, and like I said, I’ve used it for substantial gain. No, I never won (or played, for that matter) the lottery, but it’s been more like a series of small victories which add up with a ratcheting effect. Currently I’m researching psionics. Now THAT’S some interesting stuff. Granted it is technically magick, but it can be used in conjunction with divination. Same goes for talismanology, which is pretty much an independent thing.
Don’t get me wrong here. Divination will never make you a stock market whiz overnight. You really DO need to know the markets, accounting, finance, banking, where to find information etc. All I’m saying is that it’ll make you better at doing what you already know.
