This Strange Phenomena In An Oklahoma Town Is Too Weird For Words

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

When nature defies gravity, maybe this can be something you do with your family, drive down to Oklahoma and try and figure out how this works.

In the small town of Springer, Oklahoma (near Ardmore) lies an ordinary hill with a strange phenomena. If you put your vehicle in neutral at the bottom of the hill, it will suddenly appear to defy gravity as it rolls backward, uphill. Many theories exist about why things roll uphill instead of downhill. Whether caused by ghosts, a magnetic force, alien contact or an optical illusion, this is something you have to see for yourself.

“Magnetic Hill” is located on Pitt Rd. in Springer, not far from Ardmore. With caution, position your car at the “bottom” of the hill and put your car in neutral. Take your foot off the brake and you will experience the thrill of your car not only climbing the hill by itself, but gaining speed as it goes.
Other objects get pulled upwards, as well. Many cyclists report this strange phenomena happening with their bikes.

What do you think, would you try it on a bike?

Magnetic Hill is located 1 1/2 miles west of I-35 and Highway 53. Head west to Pioneer/Pitt Road, then turn north and go about 1/2 mile to the bottom of the hill (Pitt Road is NW of Springer, Oklahoma). As you drive to the bottom of the hill you’ll be heading north off Highway 53.

Watch the video below to see Magnetic Hill in action for yourself, and to hear more about it.

        Mr. Kiler

        You are absolutely 100% correct….

Hilarious!! The road seems to be uphill, but its not. There are similar stories like this in quite a few places.

        Yo, NM…

I was driving through your town the other day on I-35 and I saw the sign that says: ‘Buda — hard to say, easy to stay.’

So how the hell do you pronounce Buda? Looks easy enough to me and everyone down here calls it like it looks. I know Boerne is pronounced ‘Bernie’ and Bexar is pronounced ‘Be-ar.’ What the hell can they get out of BUDA?

        • NM156

Youda is the way you’d say it but with a B Byouda  Be glad they didn’t call it Krczynk Kershnack

Agreed. It’s a curved road, on the back slope of a hill.

There’s a cemetary in Michigan that we used to go to and it played the same game there. At night it was more fun, and a great way to spook friends that hadn’t been there before.

Wrong. the article states, “As you drive to the bottom of the hill you’ll be heading north off Highway 53.” The intersection of route 53 and Pit Road is the bottom of the hill. It has an altitude of 895 feet. Heading north to the next road is uphill, the next intersection has an altitude of 985 feet. Vehicles are rolling back toward route 53 due to gravity, not a witch’s curse. It’s just an optical illusion, due to the terrain.

I’d been there a long time ago, and was going to tell the real reason, but thought it would funnier to just watch the comments and wait for aliens and government intervention to come into the conversation first. Too many mentioned cemetaries and ‘ghost hill’ names, so that was close enough.

used to live near there before i moved to N Texas.. they called it Ghost Hill, used to be a popular hangout spot on weekend nights, back in the 70′s, early 80′s. i never seen no ghosts there, or heard anything weird, but the road is real, optical illusion most likely though

Theresa phenomena exactly like this in Saudi Arabia too, lol.

    • HealingMindN

Out of curiosity, the people driving their cars know what’s going to happen. Why do they prefer to go backwards? :?:

      • Болеслава

        cause they’re americans

      • underdog

cause thay are liberals . thay always go backwards . it is in there nature .

    • Болеслава

the sydney harbour tunnel has the same effect….just don’t try it in reverse

    • Mohsen Samii

There is one near where I live near the town of Braga Portugal. Its an optical illusion.

    • Overmind

It’s a basic optical illusion. The altitude of what seem-to-be-the-lower-area is actually higher.

    • underdog

      old news mate .
