Bunker Radio Project

  Some years back, in the fall of 1998 a radio station appeared on the CB radio band that operated until the summer of 2004 daily, providing rebroadcast of shortwave radio broadcast operating as a relay station for alternative media.  The kinds of media that were rebroadcasted were such things as Alex Jones Infowars, Bill Cooper’s The Hour Of The Times, and other conservative based broadcast.  This station was able to help inform people about mad cow disease in America, and other topics that the mainstream media and others called “conspiracy theories.”  Well that station has elected to return to the airwaves.  It should also be noted that the station owner having been a member of the Civil Defense Radio Corps (which no longer exist since FEMA has replaces such programs in the Amateur Radio realm) elected to provide such a radio station on CB out of concern for internal national security on behalf of addressing the grass roots and enlightening them, sent a state to the FCC officially known as a “Notice Of Intent” and detailed the operations of the station in the CB band as well as the various power levels it intended to use including notifying the FCC that the station owner was a life time member of the Civil Defense Radio Corps (you see once you joined back then you were a member for life, so long as you chose to be a member).  So having been there and done that back then, and making sure the FCC new all about the operations making it all official, this station ran 8 hours a day daily for the span of fall 1998 to summer 2004.  The reason that this is strategic is that although there are under 200,000 amateur radio operators in the states, we have 12,000,000 CB radio stations and hence this makes for a large audience across the USA.  Amateur radio operators have access to shortwave radio frequencies and the kinds of broadcast that we provide, but without providing those broadcast the average person would not know they exist.  Hence CB radio can be used strategically.

  It was envisioned that this station would never have to undertake this kind of project again.  However times change and visions change and needs may necessitate becoming involved in such a project again.  Also it was hoped that others would pick up the vision and carry on, and some have but not to the extent of being impacting across the nation.  In which case what we need is a network of volunteers to come on the airwaves.  And so, over the years the station owner has provided information on how to utilize CB radio for clandestine radio broadcasting as needed, and provided insights on the methods and techniques for making the broadcast sound professional with broadcast quality AM transmitter modifications to CB radios.

  In the local region of Bunker Radio the people know the legend of the station, some use to try to interfere with it in the beginning but afters a year they fell off acting as trolls and became listeners.  On good days when the atmospheric propagation allowed the station could be heard across the USA and even into other nations. 

  Bunker Radio as a new project, is beginning with a Youtube site with various CB radio related videos for working on radios, music and videos of Alex Jones and other, a web site is in the design process to be uploaded to our server and linked to Youtube and vice versa.

  This time around Bunker Radio will be seeking the interest of the public, especially those who are interested in alternative media and free speech issues, to provide assistance as needed for this project.  You see no one paid Bunker Radio to man the helm all the years it was in operation the first time around.  This time we want to make our station even more effective and are looking at a peculiar antenna project to make this possible and hence a new antenna to replace our current make do one is our present concern.  In addition it takes parts from time to time as well as other items to keep us going.  The good news is that this operation does not cost all that much, mostly just volunteering the time but it does consume time we have to admit.  If you would like to be of assistance click here, and one thing remember that we do not give out certain proprietary information, so that’s a thing with us.  Our anonymity is foremost.  Please follow us as we from time to time post articles here at BIN.
