Political Correctness’ Tragic Effects on Society

Theology and Politics from a Conservative, Biblical Perspective

Too many see nothing wrong with this.

I’ve discussed this numerous times previously, but it bears repeating. We are dealing with the times in society that are leading up to the final seven years of human history called the Tribulation. This will be the most terrible time in all of world history when Antichrist rules the world and God pours out His wrath onto society and the earth. Few will be spared.

But the tragedy is that in order for this final seven-year period to occur, things must move society to that point, incrementally. It cannot be all sunshine and roses one day and then abject evil the next. It doesn’t work like that. There must be a segue way or gradual increase in evil that pushes truth out, replacing that truth with acceptable lies. That is happening in society today and has been at work for some decades.

The apostle Paul spoke about this coming terrible time on several occasions.

But understand this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, savage, opposed to what is good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, loving pleasure rather than loving God. They will maintain the outward appearance of religion but will have repudiated its power. So avoid people like these, (2 Timothy 3:1-5).

Later on in this same letter to Timothy, Paul tells him several things that we – today – need to know. By the way, as far as Paul was concerned, the “last days” began with the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus. Clearly, some 2,000 years later, we have moved much further toward the time when the final seven years of human history will play itself out, just prior to the physical return of Jesus.

For there will be a time when people will not tolerate sound teaching. Instead, following their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves, because they have an insatiable curiosity to hear new things. And they will turn away from hearing the truth, but on the other hand they will turn aside to myths, (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

Take the time to read those two sections of Scripture again. Let them sink in and speak to you. The first one highlights the heart of the problem. Difficult days are what the last days are all about. They are difficult because of the way people think of themselves. Paul spells it out for us so there is no doubt or misunderstanding. People will come to love themselves, love money, and be filled with boasting. They will be arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents (and authority in general), and be devoid of gratitude or holiness, even though they may have an outward veneer of spirituality. They will be far worst than animals of the field because at least animals live by instinct. They don’t necessarily do what they do out of spite or due to a mean spirit. Animals survive by eating and they often must kill other animals to do that. It’s nothing personal. It’s simply what animals do; the way they’ve been programmed since the fall of humanity.

Compare this with the way people are today and what you’ll see in many is a calculated way of ensuring that they are at the top of the heap. It’s all about them, their needs and their wants. Nothing else matters.

I (unfortunately) happened upon a video on the ‘Net where one young man had crouched down and was calling a cat. The man and the cat were outside of an apartment complex. As the cat approached the young man, another young man came up and with tremendous force, kicked the cat as one would kick a football. The first young man began howling in laughter and they high-fived each other. The cat landed many yards away and ran. Who knows if it was injured? I cannot imagine that it did not receive broken ribs at the very least from the encounter. Why was that done and why was it funny? Because those two individuals couldn’t care about anything except themselves.

Those two young men have lowered themselves to the least common denominator and have done so because they think so highly of themselves. For those two, hurting living things is part of the way they live and it would not surprise me to learn that they routinely attacked people as well. Their hearts are hard and their consciences seared. They don’t care. It’s all about doing and saying things that make them feel empowered.

We see this happening in society on a larger scale with Black Lives Matter (BLM). This hate-group goes from city to city creating havoc, destroying private property, looting and stealing, and harming innocent individuals all based on the lie that says law-enforcement officers (LEO’s) are literally hunting black males. This is the most asinine belief in the world, yet one that is being played out on the world’s stage. Apparently, in spite of the fact that the world is watching, LEO’s continue their killing spree. If you question or criticize BLM (or President Obama or Hillary), you can be fired or suspended from your job.

Time and time again, members of BLM are coddled even when they are arrested. They have doused innocent white people with gasoline and set them ablaze. They have broken into stores and taken whatever they wanted to take. They illegally block roads causing frustration and problems for drivers. The police allow it due to political correctness that says BLM has a right to do what they do even if it causes havoc in society. They’re arrested and promptly bailed out so they can right back to their destruction.

IF what BLM says is true (and it isn’t), I find it fascinating that obviously law enforcement is not getting it, are they? According to the “news,” they are STILL going after blacks even though the entire world is watching.

How stupid are LEO’s then? They are clearly being “dared” to not fire on a black person unless that person is armed. Even then there are black leaders who likely believe that LEO’s should err on the side of caution before using lethal force against a black.

We know that more whites than blacks are killed each year by LEO’s. Yet, people point to percentages, saying that a higher percentage of blacks are killed by LEO’s than whites. What they fail to include is that well over 60% of crimes committed in America are committed by blacks, which means that more blacks cross paths with law-enforcement than whites do. This increases the chances that a greater percentage of blacks are going to be in harm’s way because of it.

It is in the way things are being reported. The “news,” BLM and other groups are doing their darndest to create a false narrative for people to accept without critically discerning the truth.

This outlook is born of a very misplaced “liberation” theology. This theology has been around for a while and began in Latin America and the Roman Catholic Church. It was changed, adopted, and imported to America as Black Liberation Theology of the kind taught by President Obama’s previous pastor, Jeremiah Wright. There are many leading blacks in America who advocate this erroneous doctrine that says blacks must be freed from the alleged tyranny placed on them and force can be used if necessary.

Black theology has its roots in liberal theology, which began to spread in the progressivism era of the late nineteenth century, with a focus on so-called social justice. Unlike conservative theology, liberal theology views Scripture as fallible. Like liberal theology, black theology attempts to apply Christian principles to social problems that impact blacks.

If blacks (or people of any race for that matter), want to believe in some form of “liberation ideology,” that’s up to them. But normally, Black Liberation Theology is more than an ideology. It is a theology that is only very loosely based in Scripture. It is essentially using biblical concepts to change society, to overturn what is viewed as oppressive. Dominionism, Christian Reconstructionism, Kingdom Now, and the rest all have similar facets and believe that society must be changed by Christians in order to usher in the Millennial Kingdom.

Any form of liberation theology is problematic because it only uses salvation as a starting point and then leaves it behind. Too often, people in today’s church don’t even have to be Christians. They can simply attend church and be involved in social programs and progress. In doing so, they believe they are changing the world “for Christ.” In reality, they are doing nothing of the sort. They have lost focus if they ever had it in the first place.

Filtering Scripture through race or sex should instinctively strike Christians as problematic; labeling theology ‘black’ or ‘white’ or ‘Latino’ or ‘feminist,’ even more so. The most wonderful enduring truth about Christ is that He’s no respecter of persons. It is not unbiblical to recognize differences or to incorporate them into worship, as long as Christ and Scripture remain the supreme authority of our faith and practice.

The apostle Paul takes pains to highlight the fact that as far as Christ and salvation is concerned, He and His salvation are available to all people, regardless of race or gender (Galatians 3:28). That is very clear. At the same time, Paul also takes pains to highlight the fact in Ephesians, Galatians and elsewhere, that the roles people play are not necessarily eradicated when they become Christians. The man is still the spiritual head of the home as he clearly states in 1 Corinthians 11:3.

But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ.

Feminists say that the word “head” refers to “source” and has nothing to do with “authority.” They are completely wrong, but will never admit to that because of their mindset. This does not mean that a man gets to “lord” it over his wife like a tyrant. It means that when God looks at that particular family, the buck stops with the man, whom the Lord sees as the spiritual head of the home. Too many men have abdicated that position, gladly deferring to their wives, who are all too happy to take the reins.

Christ came to set us free and He does so by offering salvation that is eternal. While our salvation begins here and now, it does not complete until we enter heaven after our death. The problems that the apostle Paul talks about occurring in society are exasperated when people begin focusing on their race or gender.

If you’re black (or brown, etc.), you are being taught that you are oppressed solely because of your color. In your case, Jesus allegedly wants you to fight the societal tide that allegedly keeps you in chains to others. The same applies if you are female. You might rise up and in God’s power, fight against the oppression created by men against women.

This totally and completely misses the point of the Gospel. This world is passing away. Change is coming. BIG change is coming but it’s the kind of the change that will actually right all wrongs and restore the perfect society, the way God originally intended it to be before humanity fell.

People who believe they are being wrongfully oppressed by others and who become militant in their reaction to it are ignoring several things. They are ignoring God’s sovereignty. They are ignoring the fact that the person who will be first must be last. They are ignoring the fact that oppression has many forms and no one is immune, certainly not white people who are supposedly the cause of all of it.

I’m not a prophet, but it’s not difficult to see that things are coming to a head in society. It’s not pretty at all. It’s rather ugly and it will get worse as time progresses. We are moving rapidly toward the time when things will be perfect for Antichrist to take up his position as world leader. I know that’s difficult to believe that in 2016, there would even be thoughts of having a one-world government with one individual reigning over the entire world. It’s very difficult to believe but the world is being moved in that direction. It’s been the purpose of the United Nations since its inception and the failed League of Nations before that. Scripture tells us that at some point, the world will become as one.

Whether it’s ISIS, the individual terrorist attacks occurring in America, the domestic terrorist group BLM, or something else entirely, all of it is being used to keep society on edge and off kilter. It is forcing people to see that “something” needs to be done so that true equality and peace can occur. Look folks, there is no true peace without God but humanity has been trying to accomplish that feat since Creation and has continually failed. Nonetheless, our leaders continue to push us toward that precipice.

President Obama against just recently stated that we (America) must be willing to give up more rights for the sake of world peace. You can read his entire speech as posted at The White House dot gov. This push toward world unity has been an ongoing one for many decades. It didn’t start with President Obama and it won’t end with him either.

So what do Christians do? We keep our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). We don’t get caught up in the lies, the hoopla, the disingenuous attitudes held by the media, our leaders, and spokespeople. They’re all part of the problem and we must avoid them at all costs, just as Paul says in the above text of 2 Timothy 3:5. We cannot allow ourselves to be swayed by them or follow them. They are liars and charlatans who are being used by the enemy of our souls to foment rage leading to change in society. Nothing good will come of it.

We also need to be about the Father’s business, which is clearly laid out in Jesus’ commission to His followers in Matthew 28:16 – 20:

So the eleven disciples went to Galilee to the mountain Jesus had designated. When they saw him, they worshiped him, but some doubted. Then Jesus came up and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’

The Christian’s job is to preach the gospel. This is followed by disciplining new converts; equipping them to go out and preach the gospel and disciple others. This is our responsibility and commission. Questions?
